In the beginning, the Star-Eye Clan cut off the supply of weapons and equipment to the Bronze Camp.
This would be considered outrageous by other races, but it held a particular significance for the Star-Eye Clan.
When Ye Zhongming took over the Bronze Camp, he naturally looked down upon the equipment from the Star-Eye Clan. As a result, he spent his own free time manufacturing a batch of equipment, which was then distributed, and even the Silver Camp and Gold Camp benefited from it.
Especially in the planet hunting grounds, after various materials were replenished, Ye Zhongming significantly improved the equipment level of his subordinates, all to ensure they could survive better in battles.
Although Ye Zhongming had not been in charge of the Bronze Camp for long, it had become a customary practice to gain greater control and freedom of action in exchange for dealing with equipment issues.
Had the two sides not become estranged, Ye Zhongming would naturally continue to provide high-quality weapons and equipment for the Bronze Camp.
However, the current situation was problematic, and the Bronze Camp found itself caught in the middle, making things difficult.
The Star-Eye Clan consistently refused to issue equipment for repairs, and when someone went to claim it, the implication was clear—they should ask Ye Zhongming for it.
The intent was obvious; they wanted to continue extracting resources from Ye Zhongming for the Bronze Camp.
By saving on the funds for the Bronze Camp's weapons and equipment, the Star-Eye Clan would save a significant amount of money.
Originally, the Star-Eye Clan had returned from the planet hunting grounds with substantial gains, and combined with what they plundered from one of the eight heads, they already had a considerable amount of wealth.
Instead of heeding Ye Zhongming’s suggestion to upgrade various software and hardware, they opted to acquire various training resources to enhance their combat strength. If they could avoid funding the Bronze Camp, they could purchase even more training resources. Why not take advantage of that?
If this was seen as a continuation of Ye Zhongming's previous actions, it left the Star-Eye Clan feeling a bit aggrieved.
However, during the time Ye Zhongming was manufacturing equipment, the Star-Eye Clan began calling back certain craftsmen under various pretenses, which hinted at some minor sabotage.
The dozens of craftsmen sent over by the Star-Eye Clan included those who had previously worked with Ye Zhongming, as well as individuals sent secretly by Pao Bai and Commander Cheng Liujin, and even Jikesu.
Most of these individuals were eager to learn from Ye Zhongming, but some were purely spies sent by the Star-Eye Clan.
Ye Zhongming saw through this; those with ulterior motives were assigned menial labor, handling heavy and dangerous metal materials, such as cutting. He was more cordial towards those sent by Pao Bai and Cheng Liujin, allowing them to engage in some important refining tasks.
The rest were relegated to helping on the periphery.
Since the Star-Eye Clan had set their eyes on the situation, they would report back to their clan at all times. But this was Cloud Summit Manor, where communication was tightly controlled, and surveillance was omnipresent, preventing them from executing their plans. Ultimately, the Star-Eye Clan could only use their privileges to send some of them back home under the pretext of family matters.
After realizing that Ye Zhongming was keeping a close watch on these individuals and that they were likely not receiving any intelligence, the Star-Eye Clan became frustrated and started recalling not only the spies but also those who were diligently learning without ulterior motives.
Everyone knew what would happen once they returned. They would not only receive more valuable information but would also delay the work assigned to these craftsmen by Ye Zhongming.
Ye Zhongming did not react to this at all.
These craftsmen indeed saw some things, but could they bring any information back to the Star-Eye Clan? It wasn't that Ye Zhongming looked down upon the Star-Eye Clan; it was simply that they were incapable.
