Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 2339: "Extracting Wealth is Also a Means of Control (Part 2)" 💰

Dodo originally came with the intention of helping, but now he had completely forgotten about that. He was just staring intently at a uniquely shaped weapon in his hand, deep in thought.

This was a weapon specifically designed by Ye Zhongming for the Ouf Clan. It resembled a battle axe, but also looked a bit like… an upright bathtub? This was because the main blade of the weapon had dozens of curved metal rods on either side.

Upon closer inspection, it looked somewhat like a sternum. When not in use, it needed to be laid flat, but once wielded, it transformed into a kind of exoskeleton armor. This was presumably for better protection during combat, but would such an oddly shaped weapon not hinder movement?

After pondering for a long time, Dodo still couldn’t quite understand it. In the end, he had to use his large frame to push the surrounding people away and cut in line to watch Ye Zhongming’s explanatory video.

In the video, Ye Zhongming elaborated on the design philosophy behind this weapon, explaining everything clearly, from the materials used to the threads on the handle. By the end, Dodo understood and knew what to do.

It wasn’t enough to just hear about the weapon’s quality; he needed to try it himself.

Being an impatient person, he shouted for someone to clear a space for him and then began practicing with the oddly shaped weapon.

To his surprise, once he started practicing, he found himself unwilling to put it down.

It would be impossible to say that this weapon didn’t hinder movement or combat at all, but the impact was minimal. Especially in comparison to its capabilities and exceptional defensive power, any hindrance became negligible.

Dodo was an old soldier, and among the small races in Dark Strip City, he was relatively strong. After experiencing the life-and-death trials on the planetary battlefield, his strength had advanced further and he was now close to the level of a master.

Just a few moves made him aware of the weapon's benefits. He realized that if he were given some time to familiarize himself with its characteristics, he could fully adapt to this uniquely shaped weapon and then exert combat power surpassing his own fuleira.

“Ten thousand, that’s really cheap.” Dodo stroked his beard, thinking that if he had ten more of these, he would be willing to shave off his beard.

Accompanying this weapon was a piece of armor. Strictly speaking, these two items constituted a set, as the armor was entirely manufactured according to the weapon’s characteristics.

The defensive focus of the armor was on the back, perfectly overlapping with the Ouf woman's body curves. It even provided more than 270 degrees of integrated protection at the neck, boasting high defense and sufficient toughness. Additionally, it contained a specially designed ‘diffusion’ layer to disperse and counteract the impact force on the body when hit by heavy weapons.

The front half of the armor had its defense ‘downgraded’ due to the protection offered by the weapon, thereby increasing agility. Furthermore, there was an energy stone installation box on the armor, which could hold mental-type gems and other sources, allowing Ouf warriors to maintain a clear mind at all times.

When Dodo finally stopped, feeling a bit reluctant to quit, he understood why the small race representative had been so excited at the beginning—because he felt the same way.

After all races had seen the weapon equipment and stabilized their emotions, Ye Zhongming signaled for them to return to their seats.

Everyone was exceedingly obedient now, as Ye Zhongming had proven he had the authority to command them.

“To be honest, these equipments are suitable for individuals with a certain level of strength, meaning the core force within your respective races. However, there won't be many of these items available in the short term; in about fifty cosmic days, each race may only obtain around ten pieces. If you want more, it will take a longer time.”

Ye Zhongming clapped his hands and then signaled the second row of warriors to open their boxes.
