CHAPTER TEXT:
Suwujie Ling!
On the back of this ancient bronze medal were four characters, and Ye Zhongming felt that this should be its name.
He flipped it back and forth a couple of times, trying to inject his mental power and energy into it.
A phantom shadow of a ferocious beast appeared beside him, letting out a silent roar towards the front.
Ye Zhongming's face flushed red because he had just exerted great control to prevent this beast from launching an attack.
Afterward, the King of Cloud Summit experimented a few more times and figured out what Suwujie Ling was all about.
This was a very advanced auxiliary combat equipment.
Its function was to store the abilities of a certain life form and activate them when needed.
Looking at the patterns on the medal, it could store up to four abilities, as the front part was divided into four areas, three of which had patterns while only the lower right corner was empty.
The three patterned areas corresponded with the three phantom shadows Ye Zhongming had just summoned, and the abilities they could unleash were the strongest skills possessed by the lives represented by those shadows.
These three life forms were 'coming phantom fox', 'astonishing flame spine beast', and 'deep space phoenix', and their abilities were their signature skills: 'spirit folding', 'numerous blaze', and 'falling nine layers'.
The three life forms represented by the shadows were super ninth-level life; their abilities were equivalent to a full-power strike from a peak expert.
This medal was like a useless item for Kunz座, but for Ye Zhongming, it was definitely a trump card. Even the strongest attacks he used after transforming weren't as powerful as this, or perhaps slightly less.
Setting the medal aside, Ye Zhongming looked at the second item.
It was a trap.
It was extremely similar to the common mouse traps on Earth. However, with Ye Zhongming's familiarity with the equipment of the All Races of the Universe, he immediately identified it as a renyi level item.
On a relatively small metallic structure, intricate patterns were carved, and there were no fewer than hundreds of exquisite miniature mechanisms, all filled with energy.
Ye Zhongming studied this item for half a day, but since he couldn't test it and feared it might be a one-time use item, he couldn't reach a definite conclusion. It seemed to be an extremely advanced trap, and he estimated that even a peak expert would be affected if they stepped on it.
As for the extent of the effect, the damage, and whether there were other negative effects, Ye Zhongming had no way of knowing.
This item was indeed excellent for trapping people, but it had too many restrictions on its use.
Ye Zhongming put these two items away in his space and picked up the third item.
This was something that resembled a scroll.
Such items were common in the Library Palace but rare among the All Races of the Universe; it was likely that only a race’s library would possess them.
The scroll, made of animal skin with an ancient flavor, was tied with a golden ribbon.
Ye Zhongming opened it, and surprisingly, there was a painting on each side, with the front depicting mountains and rivers and the back showing flowers and birds.
If it weren't for the stark differences between these mountains, rivers, flowers, and birds and those on Earth, he would have thought it was a traditional Chinese ink painting.
Ye Zhongming wasn't quite sure what this item was for. Was it a treasure map? There were no markings on it at all, and he couldn't discern any connection between the landscapes and the flowers and birds.
Could it be an artwork? But Ye Zhongming would never believe that Kunz座 would carry such an item on him. He didn't know Kunz座 well, but the Su Clan had detailed knowledge about him and had never heard of him being an ancient painting artist or having a passion for collecting.
Was it equipment? Ye Zhongming couldn't feel any energy emanating from it, and attempts to activate it yielded no response.
What exactly was this thing?
