The energy in the universe is indeed consistent at its core. However, this does not mean that any kind of energy can be absorbed.
Especially when it comes to powers that already belong to other life forms, they cannot be transformed into absorbable energy except through extremely special means and abilities. It’s akin to blood types, but far more complex; different blood types will reject one another in combination.
Of course, the magic of the universe lies in the fact that many theories, fundamentals, and widely accepted truths can dramatically change or have unique exceptions.
Some life forms can absorb energy directly without any transformation process.
Perhaps this can be understood better; for instance, the earth yellow pill consumes the corpse of a powerful expert. This counts as absorbing energy, but it has to digest the flesh and blood of others to extract nutrients, which then transform into its own energy—a process of "homogenization."
But Qiu Qiu is different; it absorbs energy directly, integrating others' energy into its own body without any intermediary.
This might be the source of its uniqueness and strength.
However!
While Qiu Qiu possesses this ability, Ye Zhongming does not!
Back on Earth, even using a tube of Evolution Potion could feel excruciating; that was already the easiest and least side-effect method of energy absorption produced by roulette technology!
Now, one of Qiu Qiu's white silk threads had reached him, conducting energy that was clearly beyond Qiu Qiu’s capacity to absorb.
Perhaps the little guy hadn’t anticipated that, as a foodie, it couldn't consume an amount of energy that fit into a single hand.
This reveals the terrifying nature of peak experts.
Qiu Qiu has a substantial capacity for energy absorption; perhaps to it, a severed hand from a peak expert contains enough energy to be fully consumed. It probably hadn't even considered the issue and subconsciously thought it would be fine.
But after absorbing, it found that things weren't as it imagined; even after filling Qiu Qiu's body with energy, it still felt overwhelmingly abundant and unceasing. Although Qiu Qiu had strong defenses, similar to cockroaches, it couldn't just keep consuming more; that would truly be fatal.
Just when Qiu Qiu could barely hold on, Ye Zhongming approached. The dazed Qiu Qiu immediately found a way to vent its surplus energy, transferring it onto Ye Zhongming.
As someone else's battle pet, Qiu Qiu could only transfer energy to Ye Zhongming.
This strange and powerful energy surged into Ye Zhongming's body. Due to his initial lack of defense, the King of Cloud Summit had some of his previous injuries flare up, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, alleviating some of his discomfort and bringing his briefly darkened consciousness back to clarity.
Ye Zhongming immediately attempted to convert the invading energy.
Logically, the King of Cloud Summit was quite skilled at energy conversions, as whenever the elemental spirits or Dominion Equipment upgraded, he had to purify and compress his own energy. Although this was somewhat different from transforming external energy, at least he had experience to draw from.
However, Ye Zhongming underestimated the energy from the peak expert. He felt that his conversion efficiency was already very high, but after purifying only a small portion of energy, his body reached its limit of tolerance.
The speed of conversion was far too slow compared to the total amount of energy flooding in.
Ye Zhongming tried to let the elemental spirits and Dominion Equipment absorb it on their own, but they merely absorbed a small amount before beginning to resist, prompting Ye Zhongming to abandon that tactic.
It was the first time since Qiu Qiu became Ye Zhongming's battle beast that it sent a plea for help. It was clear that it was struggling; even though it transferred excess energy to Ye Zhongming, his capacity as a vessel was far less than its own. Now both master and servant had reached saturation; if this continued, they would both be overwhelmed.
