In commanding large-scale group operations, Commander Cheng Liujin's level is far beyond that of Ye Zhongming. Although Cloud Summit Villa has witnessed several battles with over a million participants on Earth, Ye Zhongming has always acted as the spearhead or strategist, while the actual command has mostly been in the hands of Xia Lei and Guangyao.
When the Ring City Wolves began their assault from other directions, Cheng Liujin immediately took action. With him directly using the receiver to convey orders, everyone in the First Army clearly understood their tasks. Once the orders were issued, the entire First Army moved as if guided by an invisible hand.
If one were to overlook the battlefield from above, they might question Cheng Liujin's response. At the very least, they would find it puzzling. The formation he set up had very obvious gaps, which could easily serve as breakthrough points for the cunning and collectively adept Ring City Wolves.
In fact, the Ring City Wolves quickly identified these vulnerabilities in the creatures of the All Races of the Universe. After making slight adjustments to their formation, these agile giant wolves surged toward those gaps.
This ability to swiftly change direction and accurately locate weaknesses during high-speed charges and ambushes is something that likely only the elite of the great clans among the All Races of the Universe could achieve.
However, what awaited them were various formations.
These gaps were covered by the formations set up by Ye Zhongming. As the Ring City Wolves entered these areas, they were immediately attacked by the formations.
There were all types of formations, including illusion-based, debuff types, and attack formations.
These formations were generally small, with the exception of one medium-sized yin concealment formation in the center, which Ye Zhongming had learned from the Library Palace.
It was impossible to defeat the Ring City Wolves solely with these formations; they would likely be dispersed in less than two minutes. However, these formations were not meant to defeat the wolves but to provide an opportunity for the warriors of the First Army stationed nearby to strike.
Upon seeing the Ring City Wolves enter the formations, they immediately launched their attacks.
With no interference, they were able to unleash their full power. The main battle warriors, let alone the support warriors, displayed immense strength in their assaults.
In no time, an unknown number of Ring City Wolves had been slain on the two nameless hills and the narrow path between them. After several days of silence, the First Army revealed their fierce side.
Neither Ye Zhongming nor Cheng Liujin participated in the battle. As for Ye Zhongming, there were many in the First Army who were stronger than him. Since he was temporarily unable to transform, his involvement would have little impact, and moreover, he was still injured and needed about a day to recover.
As for Cheng Liujin, although powerful, the situation did not yet require the overall commander to personally engage in combat. Cheng Liujin's presence here held greater significance.
"The battle situation is decent, but it won't hold for long," Cheng Liujin said, with a mix of satisfaction and concern. He was satisfied that at least five thousand Ring City Wolves had been killed under the constraints of the formations, with even more injured.
His concern stemmed from the fact that not all Ring City Wolves had passed through the formations; some had charged from other positions and were now engaged in close combat with the warriors of the First Army. Additionally, the effectiveness of the formations would diminish as they were breached. At that point, the Ring City Wolves and the First Army would truly be at close quarters.
Ye Zhongming nodded and gazed beyond the battlefield, saying, "It all depends on whether those 'friends' are willing to help."
Cheng Liujin followed his gaze and spotted another group of mutated creatures, numbering around eighty thousand, arriving behind the Ring City Wolves.
