The night in the Survivor Fortress was not much different from that of a normal planet. The entire fortress needed to rely on various dynamics, such as lighting, power, and adaptability to their respective former motherlands…
However, whether in natural celestial bodies or artificial fortresses, darkness usually signified the beginning of evil. Of course, to be precise, the color black had naturally cloaked many things in a layer of protective darkness.
The Xue Huo People were one of the 'Eight Heads' of Dark Strip City, meaning they were one of the eight medium-sized races.
Unfortunately, their reputation wasn’t very good, at least not among the Star Eye Clan.
The Xue Huo People excelled in excavation and construction. While they weren't the best among all the All Races of the Universe, no other race in Dark Strip City could match them in this regard.
The underground fortress of the Star Eye Clan was built by them, but at that time, they had severely overcharged this client, making the desperate Star Eye Clan look like the foolish one.
In the days that followed, the Xue Huo People showed no remorse for their greed; instead, whenever there was an opportunity, they would take a bite out of this increasingly weak little race.
The Star Eye Clan harbored deep resentment towards the Xue Huo People.
Today, a hundred-person team from the Xue Huo People was escorting a batch of materials and equipment to another city, and Yanghu Artificial Forest was their necessary route.
Deep in Yanghu Artificial Forest, Ye Zhongming watched the assembled Assault Camp and began to announce today’s mission.
“Today our goal is to raid the Xue Huo People’s transport team.”
With those words, the members of the Assault Camp fell silent.
Raid their transport team?
Was this a joke? This wasn’t the old days when everything depended on multiple vehicles for transport; now, most of the transport was done using various spatial equipment. A transport team essentially consisted of an elite combat squad riding vehicles.
As for large machinery, they would rely on air transport using aircraft.
Transport that could travel over land was usually not too far away, just between two neighboring cities.
Once a distress signal was sent out, reinforcements could arrive within minutes, thanks to various advanced aircraft and vehicles.
At that point, not to mention stealing anything, escaping would be a challenge.
However, at this stage, Ye Zhongming had established his reputation, and although the soldiers of the Assault Camp felt it was unreliable, they did not panic.
“I know what you’re worried about, but I can assure you that since I’ve decided to do this, I won’t joke with your lives or mine.”
Ye Zhongming looked at the people below him as he spoke, “In a moment, you just focus on killing. Don’t worry about anything else. If you can’t kill, then you’ll just be killed.”
“Let me reiterate, I’m not joking. Think about how much extra money they extorted from our clan when they took advantage of us during the construction of the underground fortress. How much was that? How many excellent warriors could we train with that money? How many quality equipment could we purchase?”
Perhaps feeling that his previous training had been too strict, Ye Zhongming began to appeal to their emotions.
“What we are doing today is simply reclaiming a bit of interest.”
At this point, Ye Zhongming’s voice softened, “Everyone knows the situation in our clan. Although this time we achieved good results in the rookie battlefield and eased the dire circumstances, it’s still not optimistic. We need to make some changes; today marks the beginning of that change.”
“Why was the Assault Camp established? Isn’t it to use our own hands and lives to help our clan, ensuring that the name Star Eye Clan continues to exist among the All Races of the Universe? Since that’s the case, what’s there to hesitate or worry about? Are you just scared?”
“Not scared!” The Assault Camp suppressed their voices.
