Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1945: Nineteen Against Eleven ⚔️

Published: February 12, 2025

The thirty soldiers from the Bronze Camp participating in this battle knew that they absolutely could not afford to lose.

This time, the outcome was not only about their individual fates but also about the face of these mid-level commanders. One can imagine that if they lost, these thousand-person commanders would seek to regain their lost dignity through them.

"I can go back to get some equipment, right?" a warrior from the Bronze Camp suddenly shouted.

Since they had come in silent protest earlier, many of them had not brought the gear typically used in formal battles, so they made such a request.

Although this request was a bit embarrassing, the thousand-person commanders held back their feelings, thinking that it was better than losing, and all looked towards Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming nodded, indicating that they could do as they wished, and then he gestured to the assault camp warriors.

Everyone overlooked it, thinking he was just cautioning the assault camp members to be careful.

After a few minutes, the soldiers from the Bronze Camp returned, and the battle officially began.

Still in the same location, after a flash of light, the terrain of the "death corner" appeared. Since this terrain was surrounded by tall walls, there were no opportunities for bystanders to watch, and instead, the holographic images were projected onto the huge light barrier by the terrain maker.

The two groups of warriors entered through their respective entrances and prepared themselves. As the enormous countdown timer above the terrain hit zero, they stepped onto the battlefield together.

Right from the start, everyone saw the different choices made by the two sides.

On the Bronze Camp side, they almost immediately split into several paths, with individuals entering each route.

After all, each passage was very narrow; even a single person could hold it, and having too many people would be counterproductive.

This terrain was designed to test raw strength.

In contrast, the assault camp's approach was quite baffling.

They only chose three routes, with ten people assigned to each path.

In such narrow corridors, the widest could only accommodate two people side by side; once they were shoulder to shoulder, they couldn't fully engage in combat. Having ten people on each path was a complete waste.

However, due to their victory in the first match, everyone suppressed their doubts.

The terrain was not large, and both sides quickly arrived at the central area. The onlookers grew tense, knowing close combat was about to begin.

Shiyong led a team swiftly through the passages, without any specific objectives, as they were indifferent to whom they encountered.

Soon, while turning a corner, they spotted a Bronze Camp soldier. The opponent also noticed the assault camp and let out a loud shout as he charged over.

Shiyong's team maintained their speed; when they were at a certain distance from the soldier, Shiyong, standing at the front, continued forward, while the soldier behind him suddenly crouched down. The third person slightly leaped and stepped on his back, using the momentum to fly over Shiyong's head and launch an attack on the opponent.

This was not the end; as Shiyong and this soldier entangled with the opponent, the others immediately turned around and ran back the way they came.

What kind of tactic was this?

The spectators did not find this method particularly novel; it had been done before. They simply did not understand that, while a two-on-one situation was advantageous, it would inevitably leave half of the opponents unengaged.

No matter how complex the terrain, it was ultimately interconnected. Knowing that battles would mostly take place in the central area, it wouldn't take long for reinforcements to arrive. In such a short time, even if the assault camp temporarily gained an advantage in numbers, their individual combat strength was lower than that of their opponents, making it very difficult to quickly defeat them.

Once the remaining soldiers arrived, wouldn't the situation revert back to one where raw strength was the main deciding factor?
