Aslan looked at Ye Zhongming, feeling an overwhelming complexity of emotions.
Initially, their relationship could be seen as a mentor-mentee dynamic, where the apprentice surpassed the master in a specific skill. Now, it was because Ye Zhongming had bluntly rejected the marriage proposal. Was he really that unimpressed by her? Even being half a member of the Star-Eye Clan wasn’t enough?
Everyone instinctively considers problems from their own perspective, and Aslan was no exception. The less one experiences such situations, the more apparent they become. Even though Aslan had been 'keeping a low profile' to train herself, the short duration made it impossible to shake off that invisible support. Thus, she remained immersed in the emotions of rejection.
However, Aslan, after all, was a successor cultivated by the Star-Eye Clan. While she might not fully understand or grasp the situation, it wouldn’t stop her from turning things around.
But now, what Pao Bai was saying truly angered Aslan.
Indeed, Ye Zhongming's points were all his own, and the clan didn’t intervene. But it was unacceptable not to cherish them, especially with a list full of useless junk.
Looking at the long list of expensive items like high-grade specimen cultivation capsules and the Fifth Law Balancer, Aslan felt furious.
These points were ultimately earned with the help of Pao Bai, Jie Kui, and others. Acting this way was quite disrespectful.
Commander Cheng Liujin didn’t share Aslan's negative emotions. He felt regret, believing he should have discussed this matter with Ye Zhongming in advance—at least asking about his needs and then offering suggestions to avoid the situation where he picked so many useless items.
Yes, they were indeed useless. For a race like the Star-Eye Clan, which could barely sustain basic operations, where would they find the funds, energy, or manpower for research and development?
Without research, those items were just waste.
Ye Zhongming sat at the conference table. He didn’t want to shroud anything in mystery today; after all, he would need these people’s support in the future. With their help, it was almost as if the three major factions and the higher-ups were all on his side, making it truly smooth sailing within the Star-Eye Clan without any hindrance.
“I want twenty percent of the trade discount profits.”
Ye Zhongming looked at Cheng Liujin, who nodded in agreement.
“As for me, I am a relatively outstanding craftsman. Although my understanding of the manufacturing system of the All Races of the Universe is still at a beginner level—if we’re being honest, I haven’t even gotten my foot in the door—I am confident that I will gain something valuable after a period of dedicated research.”
“Now, look at what I have chosen.”
Ye Zhongming took the list, scanned it, and crossed out a section. The others gathered around to take a look; it was a collection of various equipment and utensils.
“These items range from low to high grade, and they represent my learning process from simple to complex manufacturing techniques. I hope to master manufacturing methods that our clan hasn’t yet grasped, especially those of the Tarros Red Dwarf.”
Initially, the others instinctively felt it was unreliable, but hope quickly surged within them.
After all, Jie Kui had witnessed Ye Zhongming's manufacturing skills. If he said he hadn’t even gotten started, it was undoubtedly modesty. If he could create equipment that many newcomers were scrambling to buy without having even started, what would happen once he did?
“Can you really do it?” Aslan, with her straightforward nature, asked directly.
Ye Zhongming didn’t mind; he nodded and said, “It should be fine; we have to give it a try.”
Pao Bai had fought alongside Ye Zhongming and held a natural closeness and trust towards him. Hearing this, she immediately chose to believe him, patting him on the back and saying, “Okay, then tell us about these.”
Cheng Liujin rolled his eyes at the side, thinking that this rough guy was missing the point. Crafting equipment? Was that the essential part? That was just foundational! The main point was the trade discount—discounts! That meant money, money that could benefit the clan! Shouldn’t they ask more questions?
