Ye Zhongming finally had a rough understanding of the hundreds of thousands of points in his hands.
So far, he had no dissatisfaction with the Star-Eye Clan.
Perhaps, the Star-Eye Clan had hidden some information from him before, but those were minor issues. They might not have done it on purpose; they probably thought it was of no use, as who would have known that Ye Zhongming would reach this point from the very beginning?
"I’m telling you this today because I hope you can help the Star-Eye Clan," Cheng Liuji said, putting down his wine glass, crossing his hands and leaning slightly forward. It was evident that he was now fully in his role.
With such a humble posture, Ye Zhongming understood that there were certainly some difficult issues for the Star-Eye Clan that had put them in a dilemma. They didn’t want to offend him, but the harsh external environment forced them to do things that might harm Ye Zhongming’s interests.
"This time, although the Star-Eye Clan ranked first overall, this first place is basically due to your contributions. Therefore, although you cannot use the ten proxy slots as they are based on ethnicity, you can take three entry tickets, and the Star-Eye Clan will keep two."
Ye Zhongming neither agreed nor disagreed, signaling Cheng Liuji to continue.
Lord Commander Huang Jin let out a barely noticeable sigh and then said, "I know you must have people you need to bring from the home planet. It would have been fine to give you all the entry tickets, but… sigh, there’s a race that once helped the Star-Eye Clan, and we hope to use one entry ticket and two proxy slots to settle the favor; we cannot refuse."
"Additionally, there are two major clans we cannot offend, and each of them will take two proxy slots."
Out of the total of ten proxy slots, six had suddenly been taken, which was why Cheng Liuji was trying hard not to show his discontent, yet he still gave off a feeling of dejection.
How could the Star-Eye Clan turn things around? They wanted to rely on the proxies to do so, seeking to gain more Moon Age Gold from them. After all, a planet surrounded by slave tribes would have an increasing number of parasites, and their power in the early to mid-stages wasn’t that terrifying. As long as they had a purpose and plan for hunting, the gains could be substantial.
Moreover, some items on these planets and the roulette items were also significant sources of income.
Unfortunately, the Star-Eye Clan could only count on four proxy slots now.
Since they hadn’t gained much from trade discount rewards and planet hunting ground rewards, the proxy slots were particularly crucial.
Of course, since Ye Zhongming had seen the Star-Eye Clan's predicament, he naturally understood their decision to give him three entry tickets and one to the race they owed a favor. The remaining one from the Star-Eye Clan was likely because too many proxy slots had been taken, forcing them to keep one for next year’s novice battlefield.
They might have to continue commissioning warriors as well.
"As mentioned before, your personal rewards won’t be taken by the clan, but we want to discuss with you whether you could exchange some points in another way."
Cheng Liuji looked embarrassed, his hands shifting from crossed to rubbing together as he looked at Ye Zhongming and said, "It's really unavoidable. Some races' demands are hard to refuse. But rest assured, the points you exchange will definitely be compensated accordingly, or even more."
Ye Zhongming thought for a moment and asked, "Is a large part of it because of me?"
Cheng Liuji was taken aback, then quickly understood what Ye Zhongming meant. He looked at Ye Zhongming with appreciation and comfort, saying, "You fought for the Star-Eye Clan, so naturally, the consequences should be borne by the Star-Eye Clan. It’s our negligence if we couldn't withstand all the pressure."
It was easy to understand that the Star-Eye Clan was under such tremendous pressure—not only due to their weakness but also because Ye Zhongming had killed too many in the novice battlefield. If it had been a member of a major clan doing such things, it might have been more manageable, but unfortunately, Ye Zhongming was backed by the nearly extinct Star-Eye Clan. Those races that could not afford to lose would certainly resort to some tactics.
