CHAPTER TEXT:

Cheng Su stared with wide eyes, Isabella looked surprised, and Jie Su was even more dumbfounded as he looked at Ye Zhongming.

This guy really dares to speak up.

Jie Su becoming the leader of the Su Clan? Isn’t that a joke! Do you know how many people in the Su Clan are qualified to inherit the position? Do you know how long it would take Jie Su to possess the strength that would convince the clan members? Do you know how difficult it is to learn a formation? Do you know how many of the ten major formations one must master to be qualified to compete? Do you know how many people need to pledge their loyalty to you for it to be possible to contend? Do you know to what extent Jie Su must grow for the possibility you mentioned to even arise?

After the initial shock, Cheng Su laughed, very disdainfully.

He was too lazy to argue with Ye Zhongming and stood up, planning to leave.

He had come here to bring Jie Su back and to accompany this rising star of the clan to receive rewards.

“Jie Su coming to the novice battlefield was unexpected for you, right? But if you sent him, what kind of ranking were you expecting to achieve?”

Cheng Su slowed his steps.

“Did you ever think he would rank second? But now, he is in second place.”

Ye Zhongming did not glance at Isabella, who was giving him secret signals, and continued, “Perhaps I should rephrase it; what if all the people in your clan who are qualified to inherit the throne enter this novice battlefield? What do you think the best results they could achieve would be? How many of them are likely to surpass Jie Su’s current ranking?”

Since he had started, Ye Zhongming fully let go.

“What do you use to measure a person's potential? Isn’t their performance the most important aspect? Don’t tell me you look at compatibility.”

“Zhong Ming!”

Jie Su frowned and said something to ask him not to say irrelevant things, but deep down, he was enjoying it.

“Hmph, the silk sea light array is not the most powerful energy array of the Su Clan.”

Cheng Su's words were very clear; Jie Su had obtained so many points relying on the Su Clan’s top ten energy arrays. If it were someone else, especially someone who mastered a more lethal energy array than the silk sea light array, their results would be even better.

“You only see the energy array?” Ye Zhongming had an incredibly surprised expression.

“No wonder the Su Clan’s power is gradually declining.”

“Zhong Ming!”

This time, even Isabella couldn’t take it anymore. This guy just kept throwing out insults.

This remark truly angered Cheng Su; he laughed in rage and looked at Ye Zhongming, saying, “Fine, I’ll listen to what brilliant insights you have.”

Saying this, he sat back down, staring motionless at Ye Zhongming and said, “You better give me a convincing reason; otherwise, today I’ll teach you a lesson, you novice first!”

Ye Zhongming remained calm, looking at Cheng Su and said, “The silk sea light array indeed helped Jie Su earn points, but if there were only that one array, could he have earned so many points? Others aren't fools; why would they enter your array to be slaughtered? Isn’t it because there are compelling reasons for them to enter?”

“Okay, maybe others can also find such reasons, but can they ensure they attract that many people?”

“Fine, even if they can attract as many people, can they guarantee they survive like Jie Su?”

A series of questions made Cheng Su’s expression shift, but he still said nothing.

Ye Zhongming continued.

“Apart from the energy arrays, Jie Su achieved such results because he had helpers: Isabella, Pao Bai, Long Void Water Clan. Why do these people help Jie Su? Because Jie Su took the risk of dying to suppress his strength down to the novice battlefield. Isn’t courage something that a qualified or even excellent leader must possess? Is it not a quality that a qualified or even excellent leader should have to gain the trust and help of so many battle comrades?”
