Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1915: The Frantic Decision of the Long Void Water Clan (Part One) 🌊

The novice camp was chaotic, with loud voices ringing out amidst the mechanical roars, the howls of battle beasts, the mournful cries of the injured, the curses of enemies, and the clanging of metal.

There was no way around it; the surviving novices and seasoned warriors, along with members of various races arriving with two waves of people, had essentially all landed on this planet and gathered in the novice camp. They not only filled the numbers lost but exceeded them significantly; wanting this place to be quiet was simply impossible.

The Star-Eye Clan had naturally come under Aslan's leadership. Fearing potential problems, nearly everyone except those who absolutely needed to pilot the flying vehicles had descended to the planet, totaling more than thirty people!

It was said that a large Star-Eye Clan flying vehicle was en route, carrying over a thousand Star-Eye warriors.

Ye Zhongming was already able to stand, but it would likely take another two days for him to recover to his best condition. This was already the best medicine the Star-Eye Clan could provide him temporarily.

Others, even Pao Bai, would need to lie in medical pods for about a week before they could walk around after treatment.

Aslan looked at Ye Zhongming, who sat quietly, and felt a sense of bewilderment.

How could someone who had achieved such great results and was about to face unimaginable rewards be so calm?

Did he not feel a hint of excitement or thrill? Had he not thought at all about the drastic changes that awaited him in the future?

Indeed, Ye Zhongming was the top novice of the Star-Eye Clan, ranking first overall.

This was thanks to his last-minute "duplication training," which allowed him to surpass Jie Su, who had previously received help from the Silk Sea Light Array, in kill count. His points naturally exceeded many others, and combined with the scores of the surviving Star-Eye members Pao Bai and Jie Kui, he also ranked first overall.

The goal set earlier was merely to be in the top fifty, but now, Ye Zhongming had achieved an unmatchable score in this novice battlefield with the richest rewards. Aslan thought that while the rewards from All Races of the Universe were predetermined, what kind of reward could his own clan offer to appease this man and make him willingly stay with the small Star-Eye Clan?

Aslan suddenly felt that if this man had merely completed the goals set by the clan, it might have been much easier to handle.

Fortunately, Pao Bai was there.

Aslan knew that if Ye Zhongming ultimately chose to stay with the Star-Eye Clan, Pao Bai's sacrifice would surely be a pivotal reason.

Perhaps, it was the most important reason.

Understanding that his own words carried little weight, Aslan decided to probe Ye Zhongming on this matter, even if it was just to gauge the situation.

"You currently have hundreds of thousands of points and must spend them in the store. Do you have any thoughts?"

The reason he referred to it as the store rather than the novice store was that after the novice battlefield ended, the novice store underwent an upgrade, increasing the types and quantities of goods available for the surviving members to purchase. This was also a function of points apart from ranking.

Aslan asked this strategically; with so many points, he estimated that Ye Zhongming could clear out a third or even more of the store. It was preferable for him to share such benefits with others, including the Star-Eye Clan, as it could somewhat gauge Ye Zhongming’s final decision. Even if it couldn’t be confirmed completely, at least it would reveal something about the man's temperament.

Ye Zhongming glanced at Aslan with a half-smile, his keen mind accurately grasping the probing intention behind Aslan's question.

"It depends."

Aslan was nearly choked by such a simple and dismissive reply.

"If—I'm saying if—you were to spend these points now, what would you want to buy?"

"I haven't thought it through."

"Just if..."

"I don’t know what’s in the store, how can I say?"
