Jie Su looked at Pao Bai with a faint smile while the others kept their distance.
There was no choice; Pao Bai's gaze towards her friend was quite unsettling, making it possible for him to explode in rage at any moment, which could result in collateral damage.
However, Jie Su knew that there was nothing to worry about. If there really was something that could counteract Pao Bai, then Isabella was definitely his nemesis.
This little female protagonist from Musk Ke Star was the future heir of a powerful family. There's no need to mention her appearance; just her status alone was far beyond what Pao Bai could compare to. Even the Star-Eye Clan would be considered weak in front of her.
But surprisingly, after a chance encounter with Pao Bai, this princess-like figure fell head over heels for the crazy young man, openly pursuing him.
This event once caused a huge uproar, with many believing that given the Musk Star Master’s affection for his daughter, he might actually agree to it. Of course, the prerequisite would be that the Star-Eye Clan would merge into Musk Ke Star.
However, what surprised people was that both Pao Bai and the Star-Eye Clan displayed an unexpected level of 'steadfastness' regarding this matter.
First, two important figures from the Star-Eye Clan publicly declared that this was Pao Bai's personal choice, and whatever decision he made would be supported by the clan. Even if Pao Bai chose to leave the Star-Eye Clan and join Musk Ke Star, the Star-Eye Clan would still present their treasures to congratulate the two hopeful stars. But, the Star-Eye Clan would not merge with other races.
This statement reportedly angered the Musk Star Master, who had never expressed an opinion on the matter. He felt that the Star-Eye Clan was using Musk Ke Star's status to elevate themselves, in a way playing the sympathy card to showcase their clan's spirit while seeking fame and greater benefits. This was also an attempt to stir Pao Bai's sense of belonging to the Star-Eye Clan, thus tightly linking his daughter to him and indirectly gaining benefits from Musk Ke Star.
Although the Musk Star Master had never expressed his stance on the future of Pao Bai and Isabella, his previous attitude towards the Star-Eye Clan led many to pronounce a death sentence on the ‘couple’ that had yet to come together.
Then, Pao Bai himself publicly announced that he had no feelings for Isabella, and that they were just ordinary friends. No matter the present or future, they would not end up together.
This further diminished the outside world's expectations for them, and some began to believe that the Star-Eye Clan and Pao Bai really had no intentions of clinging to each other.
Yet, regardless of the external media storm or Pao Bai's longstanding indifferent attitude, it had no impact on Isabella's admiration for him. Jie Su felt that after leaving this place, the relationship between the two would officially come to an end. The Musk Star Master would never allow his future heir to act recklessly for a madman.
As for why Jie Su felt it was okay to laugh at Pao Bai, it was because Isabella could genuinely keep Pao Bai in check.
Most importantly, Pao Bai felt guilty towards this woman. He wasn’t heartless; he understood how precious Isabella's persistence was, how sincere her feelings were, and how much she had invested. His rejection and indifference would cause her significant harm.
