Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1897: The Final Swirl 🌪️

Published: February 12, 2025

"Lady, there's a situation ahead."

The little maid darted through the forest several times and finally reached the lady's side from a distance.

"Is it Pao Bai?"

The lady stood up excitedly, her eyes shining with anticipation.

The maid sighed internally but said nothing, merely shaking her head.

"Oh."

Knowing it wasn't Pao Bai, the lady immediately lost interest, sitting back down by the small stream, lazily unwilling to move.

Earlier, the three had thought they could quickly find Pao Bai, but when they arrived, he had already left. As they continued to track him, the numerous overlapping green dots made it impossible for them to determine which one was the person they were looking for.

In the end, the lady simply sent her two subordinates out to search separately, hoping to find him quickly; otherwise, they would have to wait for the next hour when the red name would refresh.

This lady was very kind to her subordinates, but her personality was somewhat cold. Except for her obvious change towards Pao Bai, she rarely showed kindness to others, often making decisions directly without consulting anyone. The maid hesitated for a moment but decided to continue reporting what she had seen; otherwise, she might face consequences later.

"Lady, the people ahead are not Pao Bai's commander, but they are from the Long Void Water Clan. They are being attacked, and as you know, the first-ranking Star-Eye Clan novice is indeed Pao Bai's target. The news says that the Long Void Water Clan's novice is with him, so I think..."

"If we save these three from the Long Void Water Clan, they might have a way to contact their people, and then we can follow their lead to find Pao Bai!"

The lady stood up excitedly, patting the maid on the head, "Very good."

The maid felt a thousand emotions in her heart but couldn't express anything.

"Let's wait a moment..." the maid referred to the male guard, but before she could finish, the impatient lady had already begun to dash away, and she could only follow.

---

On a small hillside.

The energy array had already been set up, and Jie Su quietly watched the direction where Pao Bai should appear, waiting for his friend to show up.

However, Pao Bai was still nowhere to be seen.

His brother must have run into trouble.

"Why don't we go check the situation? If necessary, we can help?"

Jie Su didn't respond immediately but remained quiet for a while before replying, "No need."

Without the help of the array, the combat strength of the Su Clan could only rank low among the All Races of the Universe. Knowing that Pao Bai was bound to encounter strong opposition, even if all three of them went, it wouldn't have much effect; there was a higher chance they would all be caught up in it.

Since that was the case, they would just wait here.

Every dream's realization inevitably comes at a great cost. The bigger, grander, and even miraculous the dream, the more thorns fill the road to its achievement.

He, Pao Bai, and a few others didn't hold particularly new or alternative dreams; perhaps many people had once harbored similar aspirations. However, for various reasons, they had either forgotten those dreams or retreated from them.

Jie Su didn't know if their group could realize their dreams or how long they could persist; everything could only advance through continuous trials.

Once they hit a snag... dreams wouldn't vanish but would still find successors, only it wouldn't be their concern anymore.

Pao Bai, it seemed, had reached a moment of trial.

Everyone has their own responsibilities, and if one fails to pass within their duty, it can only be said that they don't deserve the favor of the god of dreams.

This point equally applied to himself, and Jie Su spread his arms as the energy array beneath him lit up.

Pao Bai was being tested over there, and his own trial had also arrived.

He rushed over to Ye Zhongming's side, supporting the swaying Ye Zhongming.

Fortunately, this time it was just excessive exhaustion with no actual injuries; he would recover quickly, but such powerful ability couldn't be used again in a short time.
