Chapter 1889: A Pot of Porridge (Part 1) 🍲

The warmth of the campfire felt comfortable, even leading some to stretch their hands into it, as this temperature posed no threat to top evolvers.

Ye Zhongming, Pao Bai, and Ji Rui Guang sat together, eating and speaking quietly.

The battle... did not take place.

It wasn't that the Tarros Red Dwarf truly feared Pao Bai, but at that moment, everyone’s recorder displayed numerous green dots appearing around them.

Ye Zhongming and the others were naturally aware, but even the Tarros Red Dwarf felt a sense of fear.

The former was worried that the newcomers ranked high might be killed, while the latter was afraid they would be treated as easy prey on a rookie battlefield devoid of rules.

Don't think that just because the Tarros Red Dwarf specialized in crafting equipment, no one dared to provoke them. In the rookie battlefield, life and death were ultimately determined by fate.

So everyone ran away without hesitation.

“How long can this thing last?”

Pao Bai was curious about the almost transparent energy shield surrounding them, marking his first time actively speaking to Ji Rui Guang.

“There are twenty-two minutes left,” Ji Rui Guang replied, feeling much better. He had to admire the medicine crafted by the Long Void Water Clan; it was incredibly effective.

This was a piece of equipment Ji Rui Guang had looted from a mature warrior he previously killed. It was a one-time use item that could temporarily block all signal sources for forty minutes.

This provided Ye Zhongming and the others with more than half an hour to rest.

They could use this time to recover their combat power, adjust their condition, and discuss strategies.

“What do you plan to do next?”

Now, the rookies and the warriors from the All Races of the Universe all had the same recorder, meaning they all saw the same information on the same system.

Ye Zhongming still ranked first among the rookies, with a score far surpassing the second place. This was because killing a mature warrior who fell from the sky garnered a reward of two thousand points, and that was only the base score. Once the killed warriors had their points, those points would also be proportionally distributed to the killer.

Gaining a massive amount of points was difficult as these warriors usually descended in groups of three, making them tough to kill. After they came down, their roles were that of hunters, not prey. Hence, Ye Zhongming, who acted contrary to this, naturally reaped significant rewards.

He He and Ji Rui Guang also ranked well, having killed enemies as well.

In the overall ranking, or the racial ranking, the Star-Eye Clan was also in first place.

Because Pao Bai currently had six thousand points!

This indicated he had killed three warriors.

This guy, even while suppressing his own strength, was still terrifyingly strong.

He took down three alone; though he spoke modestly, anyone could sense the danger behind his words.

As for the other two warriors from the Star-Eye Clan, one’s name had already dimmed, clearly having been killed, while the other was missing, with zero points...

In response to Pao Bai's question, Ye Zhongming genuinely didn't know how to answer.

He felt that this question was actually unimportant; because once the signal-blocking device disappeared in twenty minutes, someone would naturally come looking for them. All he needed to do was fight, regardless of whether he wanted to or not.

“A battle is inevitable; what I mean is, have you thought about how to fight?”

Ye Zhongming hesitated before saying, “Fight while running.”

His red name status would expose his location, but these warriors were equally obvious, with their real-time positions displayed unlike the red-named rookies, who refreshed their location only once an hour.

Right now, Ye Zhongming's only concern was those warriors coming down from above to trouble him. Given the disparity in location information, moving while attacking might be the best strategy.

After all, with Pao Bai's help and the support of He, Ji Rui Guang, and other powerful rookies, they weren't particularly afraid of encountering a weaker trio.
