CHAPTER TEXT:
"I wonder how things are going with the boss?"
Jie Kui leaned against a tree, his gaze vigilantly scanning the surroundings.
The others nearby, including Shikangbu, Husky, and Yangtua, remained silent; they couldn’t provide an answer to this question.
Because these few were following Ye Zhongming, their scores were quite high, ranking within the top five hundred. However, due to preparations for the next cycle, they had spent quite a bit, and even the dividends from selling equipment hadn't helped them break into the top thousand.
Surprisingly, they were all still able to stay together without separating. Only that halo warrior had scored slightly higher and entered the top five hundred, so he wasn’t with the rest.
Anyone not in the know might think this was intentional, separating the only one who didn’t agree to join the team’s plans.
Perhaps the previous battles had given them confidence, and since most of the team was together, they chose Area 47.
Although Zizikaba didn’t explicitly say it, everyone knew that the further back the area, the higher the difficulty.
"The captain and the rest should be fine together; the captain... is very strong," said Acha, the shield warrior from the Peak Clan.
He paused, seemingly recalling something, then emphasized, "Really strong."
Everyone laughed; initially, they found it reasonable, but then it sounded like nonsense.
How could the captain not be strong? If he wasn’t strong, how could he be captain? How could they possibly follow orders from someone weaker than themselves? Did it even need to be said?
Acha grew a bit anxious, "I’m serious! During that battle, I used my shield to knock a guy back, but the captain took him down with a single punch. I didn’t pay attention at the time, but later, when I thought back, it was that person faskoda killed!"
Faskoda was the magnetic advancement tribe halo warrior who wasn’t present.
Everyone knew he had a straightforward and honest personality, and slightly had a tendency to take things too seriously. Seeing him anxious, they hurriedly nodded in agreement.
The captain’s strength couldn’t just be attributed to his greater power; it lay in the fact that he... was versatile.
This was a consensus among them. Those who had witnessed Ye Zhongming in battle initially thought he was from the Star-Eye Clan, and expected him to be an assassin, killer, or raider. But in reality, he was capable of all kinds of approaches, whether distant or close, real or illusory, and not just competent but exceptionally strong in all aspects!
"Okay, let’s organize our gear. Our prey should be arriving soon."
Jie Kui clapped his hands and nodded at Husky. The two of them were effectively co-leading the team in Ye Zhongming’s absence. Their current target was a parasite in this area, a powerful creature unique to the adult slave tribe, with a recorded score exceeding five hundred!
As for why this team, who had tasted the thrill of killing, was now playing the role of hunters... don’t think they had turned a new leaf; they simply felt that everyone had spent a lot of points, and the cost-effectiveness of killing was too low. They were waiting for the final day.
Between the five hundred and the thousand ranks, there were three areas to choose from, and most opted for the slightly easier Area 45. Thus, the quieter Area 47 was where they currently found themselves. The squad was eager to finish this hunt quickly and secure their points.
As their points were increasing, Ye Zhongming’s situation was not looking good.
He was still being hunted.
Not out of vendetta, but because of his points and the significant red name status.
No matter how justified his reasons for killing were, they couldn’t cover up the fact that he had killed many people. Ye Zhongming was now the highest-ranked red name.
What would others think when they saw him? Even if he wasn’t the one who had killed the most, he certainly had the highest quality of kills; how else would he have amassed so many points?
