CHAPTER TEXT:

Attack!

Once again, it came from the newcomers! Ailezeya's heart sank. This was the thing she feared the most. Nothing was more terrifying than encountering one's own kind, a conclusion and truth she had arrived at after surviving for seven or eight years in the apocalypse.

Moreover, she was even clearer that since they had been targeted and attacked, it proved at least one thing—her opponents were stronger than them.

Victory and defeat could only be determined after a fight, but confidence wasn't something that could be measured. Ailezeya was already at the back of the team, and with this mindset, she immediately retreated.

The icy glint was mostly focused on those up front, allowing her to calmly withdraw from the danger zone.

When she looked up again, Ailezeya saw three shadows rushing into the team.

Those were Ye Zhongming, Jie Kui, and Shikangbu.

Traps had been set up by Ye Zhongming. Those traps were not lethal, at least not to nine-star evolvers, but if triggered, they would be particularly troublesome because Ye Zhongming had coated them with some toxins that would cause a slight paralysis effect.

At the moment the traps were triggered, Ailezeya, positioned at the back of the team, failed to notice that some vine-like things suddenly shot up from the ground, their power surpassing even the icy glints. Most of the people were pierced in the soles of their feet by these things.

It was during this time that Ye Zhongming and his companions used their respective abilities to charge in, as warriors of the Star-Eye Clan, ambush was their specialty.

Before they could get close, Ye Zhongming's double poison shadow appeared—a single shadow that was not very conspicuous but suddenly appeared in the midst of the target team, exploding instantly and creating a mental shock that froze the bodies of those already thrown into chaos by the trap attacks.

Seizing the opportunity, the three rushed into the team.

In the first second of entry, they eliminated three people.

Everything was going as expected, incredibly smoothly, but Ye Zhongming and the others did not get greedy. Taking advantage of the moment when their opponents had just started to react, they immediately retreated, with Ye Zhongming using three shadows for cover.

The double poison shadow was effective as a mental shock, but if the opponent was prepared, its effectiveness would diminish. After all, he couldn't inject too much mental power into the shadow, as this would affect his condition later.

With three companions suddenly killed, and seeing that their opponents were also only three, some members of the target team immediately erupted in anger and charged forward to initiate a counterattack. Others felt that something was wrong and instinctively retreated like Ailezeya, splitting their remaining eight-person team into two parts at that moment.

The distance between them wasn't very large, and those who attacked would soon realize that some companions had not followed them; they would definitely pull back.

But Ye Zhongming would certainly not give them such an opportunity.

Behind the four advancing individuals, a massive vine net rose up, separating them.

Ailezeya's heart, which had already been sinking, now plummeted to the bottom.

Traps, ambush, murder, then more traps.

If they weren't sufficiently prepared, it would be self-deception. At this point, she had already understood—they were here to kill. For what? Points were the best treasure!

She turned from a backward retreat to a forward escape, abandoning the notion of assessing the situation and instead focusing on fleeing as quickly as possible.

As for who would send a signal to the captain… let whoever want to send it do so. She would wait until it was safe before sending anything. Right now, sending a signal could cost her precious seconds and lead to her death.

Suddenly, Ailezeya lowered her head, and a cold light shot out from above her head, accompanied by a killing intent that made her shudder.
