Chapter Four: The Battle Begins
The battlefield fell into an instant silence.
When Amus summoned Wade and Yaka back to her side, both sides formed a standoff.
Amus was on the edge of fury, almost ready to explode.
She couldn't understand why things spiraled out of control whenever they encountered Ye Zhongming.
If it was true that they had previously underestimated Ye Zhongming's strength, this time, however? They had quite a good understanding of him.
They developed an ambush plan, went to great lengths to recruit two companions skilled in tracking, purchased a mechanical speedboat that could move quickly on the water, obtained a complete information map of the Sea of Ten Thousand Isles, and bought potions to counteract Ye Zhongming's skills... Yet why? The results were even worse than the first time.
The first time, they had chased Ye Zhongming like a stray dog, but this time? They failed to seize any points, not even a single spinning fish, and their waking companions had all died.
Now, it was just the four of them left, resembling a defeated army, while across from them, the originally thought helpers, Husky and Yangtua, had arrived on the opposite side, and Ye Zhongming was in perfect condition.
Qiu Qiu needed no mention; that woman should also be alright. However, the other two from the Star Eye Clan seemed heavily injured. After taking medication, they had regained consciousness and recovered some combat power.
The situation looked increasingly wrong.
Wade glanced at the Hawkins couple.
They felt it was a signal from their companions to retreat.
"We have come this far, experiencing many setbacks and hardships," Hawkins suddenly spoke, drawing the attention of everyone, including his wife.
“Ninth level is the pinnacle of evolutionary levels, but after arriving here, we realize this is not the end. There are far too many people whose strength can easily crush us and kill us without effort.”
“Our pride and dignity mean nothing in front of these people.”
Hawkins looked at the opposite side, where they wanted to attack, with a calm face.
“We must continue to climb higher and become stronger. At the very least, we shouldn’t be sent to such a damned place without the right and capital to refuse.”
“I think you all will agree and strive toward this goal.”
The others nodded; this was indeed their ideal.
“We must have the heart of a strong person.” Hawkins slowly raised his weapon. “Today, I will fight to the end here.”
“If I choose to flee because the situation is dire, then my heart of a strong person will be lost. The path to seek greater strength will be filled with thorns. I think that way, I will never become the strongest and will only live with my current strength, which would be a state of muddled existence until death.”
“Undeniably, my heart and Amus's heart are filled with hatred, but no matter what, this is a kind of motivation. Now, the situation between us and them is no longer simple hatred, but…”
“A kind of shackle.”
“If we escape, we will be locked for the rest of our lives.”
“If we win, the path of the strong will be smooth.”
“If we lose, then we will sleep here forever!”
Hawkins radiated a bright aura.
“Amus!”
“Me too!”
Hawkins nodded, took a deep breath, slowly closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they shimmered with golden light.
He didn’t need to ask Wade and Yaka; having himself and his wife was enough.
“Using a bloodline with Eastern traits to kill Easterners is quite interesting.”
After Hawkins spoke, the phantom shadow behind him transformed into a gigantic Eastern golden Buddha.
“God of Faith!”
After ascending to the sky, Hawkins activated his bloodline for the first time — a high-level bloodline, the God of Faith!
Amus laughed joyfully as she transformed as well.
“Let’s go crazy together this time.”
Her purple armor spread out and covered her entire body, quickly enveloping her.
The mechanical spear in her hand and the wings on her back seemed to merge into her body at this moment, changing their form.
