Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1818: There are still eight left.

Published: February 12, 2025

Jie Kui pressed on his shoulder; the pain from his severed arm still throbbed intensely after the vigorous movement.

He was a bit worried that the medicine prepared by the Star-Eye Clan would have no effect on his injury. He also dared not let the broken bone mend on its own, because even a millimeter's difference could render his arm useless.

With two days left until he could return to camp for treatment, Jie Kui felt a sharp pang of sadness. This meant that to prevent his body's natural healing ability from automatically rejoining the broken bone within those two days, he could only occasionally shake his shoulder to keep the bones apart, which was no different from torture.

Dozens of meters away, he heard the sound of swift movement; he knew that the two pursuers were closing in. With Tear Hound Ghost Clan members present, no matter how far he ran, he would be found.

He glanced in the direction where Ye Zhongming had run, silently wishing him well, thinking that this was all he could do. Then, Jie Kui rushed into the darkness of the dense forest. A battle ensued moments later, quickly coming to an end, followed by another chase...

---

Two companions stood in front of Ye Zhongming, making him feel for a moment as if he were back on Earth.

Although he hadn't been in this heavenly realm for long, he was facing various life forms that differed from human shapes, leading him to feel a bit of aesthetic fatigue.

Just moments ago, the three of them had exchanged punches, Ye Zhongming's hands colliding with the right hands of the two individuals, causing both sides to recoil two steps.

Ye Zhongming attempted to use a brief teleportation to escape the encirclement but was blocked by the special abilities of the two individuals.

After noticing the faint halo connecting the three, Ye Zhongming felt a headache coming on.

He couldn’t tell if this was an ability preserved from their time on Earth or a skill learned here, but the energy resembling a "muted, monochrome rainbow" bound the three together, preventing Ye Zhongming from using his teleportation abilities and significantly slowing his movement.

"Trinity, what do you think, King of Cloud Summit?"

The slightly stockier of the two Earthlings grinned smugly.

There was still leftover meat between his teeth, which disgusted Ye Zhongming enough to avert his gaze.

Others gathered around, their faces twisted with ferocity.

Ye Zhongming ignored them... because he couldn't hear.

Suddenly, over thirty black shadows appeared around, isolating Ye Zhongming from these individuals.

"Desperate struggle!" Hawkins sneered coldly, producing a pair of twin blades, advancing while swinging them.

They were all top-tier experts; it was clear that these shadows were mere facades. Others felt the same, particularly the young girl Yaka, who charged in with all her might.

However, what Hawkins and the others didn't expect was that while these shadows were indeed fragile, once destroyed, they would emit a bit of toxin and mental shock, momentarily freezing them all.

It didn’t truly affect them much—after all, the trouble caused by each shadow was minimal—but it was certainly irritating.

As the black mist spread with each shadow's destruction, a muffled grunt suddenly echoed from within, startling Hawkins and the others.

It was the voice of Hofu Kafu.

Amus suddenly glowed with golden light, dispersing the surrounding black mist. They saw that Hofu Kafu, who had just mocked Ye Zhongming, was now clutching his ribs, where there was no visible wound yet blood was seeping out.

The injury wasn’t severe but proved that Ye Zhongming had the ability to harm them even while surrounded.

Hofu Kafu's face twisted; his mouth gaped wide, and his head expanded to become a monstrosity with a head at least one and a half meters long!

From that gaping mouth, a gray-brown, foul-smelling slime began to spew forth.

Seeing this ability, the previously prepared young girl instantly jumped back instead of attacking.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to engage, but it was just too disgusting.
