In the equipment system of the apocalypse, items are artificially divided into four levels: ordinary, rare, epic, and legendary.
Ordinary level includes gray, white, and silver grades. These are the most widely used and preserved equipment in the apocalypse.
Rare level represents green and blue grades. Equipment at this level can be considered "very good," and not everyone can own such items in the apocalypse. They are mainstream equipment for mid to high-level evolvers, and are expensive, requiring significant cost to obtain.
In Ye Zhongming’s past life, his green-level sniper rifle and the green-level shield from the tall Shengyuan belonged to the rare level. They had fought hard for a long time to obtain those items.
Above the rare level is the epic level, which includes gold and purple grades. Weapons and equipment of these colors are considered top-tier in the apocalypse. Those with eight-star or nine-star strength typically own only a few, or even just one, piece of equipment at this level.
Epic items are incredibly rare.
To obtain such equipment from a roulette, a grade 7 roulette would be needed, and even then, the chances are exceedingly low. A grade 8 roulette would yield slightly better results.
However, how many people in the world can spin a grade 8 roulette? Only nine-star strongholds can occasionally gather enough grade 8 magic crystals to take a chance at the grade 8 roulette. Others can only drool over them.
Thus, in the apocalypse, epic items are like private yachts and planes in peacetime—exclusive to the wealthy, while epic items belong to the strongest.
As for legendary items, they are truly legendary. It’s said that they emit colorful lights, and very few people have seen them. In Ye Zhongming’s memory, legendary items only appeared in some lists created by armed merchants in his past life.
Normally, only by becoming a seven-star evolver can one hope to catch a whiff of epic-level equipment. To truly own one, becoming an eight-star is necessary.
But now, on the Devil's Bet Table, Ye Zhongming got his hands on a Gate of Sacrifice—a golden Gate of Sacrifice, a real epic-level item!
Who wouldn’t be excited?!
At this moment, even if Ye Zhongming had to take another risk, he would do it, as long as this golden equipment belonged to him.
Ye Zhongming felt that his luck was somewhat against the odds.
The Devil's Bet Table, as the name suggests, is a test of the spinner's luck, but it also follows certain rules.
For example, the level of the magic crystal used to activate it partly determines the quality of the items obtained.
Using a Grade 1 Magic Crystal as the activation energy will yield items that are certainly inferior to those obtained with a Grade 2 Magic Crystal, while using a Grade 3 Magic Crystal will naturally produce stronger items than those from Grade 2 activation.
Everyone wants better items, but the roulette is fair; if you want to obtain something better, you must face more dangerous challenges.
If you activate the roulette with a Grade 2 Magic Crystal, the monsters you encounter will be grade 3 and 4!
In other words, using a Grade 2 Magic Crystal for activation means the spinner and their companions will have to deal with monsters as powerful as iron lock prisoners. Ye Zhongming's team struggled against grade 3 monsters, and without Shengyuan, they would have been annihilated. Choosing Grade 2 activation would have been a joke! They would have perished without a trace.
Moreover, activating the roulette with a Grade 2 Magic Crystal requires a three-star evolver, but the team had no one who met this requirement.
Even if there was someone, the activation would need Grade 3 and Grade 4 Magic Crystals—where would they find those?
Furthermore, Ye Zhongming’s last resort, using explosions to clear the area, could only injure grade 3 lifeforms; grade 4? They wouldn’t even be a threat.
In this situation, Ye Zhongming had certain psychological expectations about what he could obtain from the bet table.
He had thought that if luck was on his side, he might get two rare-level items. In that case, the risk would be worth it.
