Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1779: Ability Chain 🌌

Published: February 12, 2025

Aslan stared blankly at the simulated sky in the space, feeling that her life had plunged into darkness.

She had never experienced such treatment from childhood to adulthood!

Shame!

After a great deal of hatred, there came a numb acceptance of her fate.

Aslan believed that someone must be watching her current situation; even if there was no one monitoring inside, the Color Man must be observing.

Although the training in Dark Strip City was brutal, it was also controlled. All factions in Dark Strip City needed fresh blood, and the Star-Eye Clan was particularly desperate. Therefore, it was impossible to let all these new garbage perish during the training.

Monitoring was necessary; Aslan had had similar tasks in the past.

But now, no one came out to take care of this trash, and no one came to rescue her.

She knew why.

There were two main reasons: the first was that someone wanted her dead! At the very least, someone hoped she would be punished and humiliated. The second reason was that the strength this trash exhibited had been recognized. The Color Man, the head of the special training camp, or those above him, saw a glimmer of hope in this trash.

So as long as this trash didn’t kill herself, no one would intervene.

If it weren’t for herself… then perhaps whatever this trash did to her would not bring anyone to help.

“What did you say earlier? Repeat it slowly and clearly, without your accent.”

Before Aslan could say anything, the Color Man and those in front of the light barrier collectively felt a crow fly over their heads.

Dark Strip Language was just a common language here, not everyone’s mother tongue. It was a unified learning and teaching method, so how could there be any accent? Did he think that people from his home planet couldn’t understand each other just because there was a river in between?

Moreover, the Star-Eye Clan was known for their clear vocal quality; how could they have an accent?!

Aslan was so angry that blood dripped from the corner of her mouth.

Ye Zhongming shook his head and moved the bottle back under Aslan's nose, making her take a breath.

While doing so, he grumbled.

“Birdmen really can’t take a hit…”

Aslan listened, nearly dying of anger.

You trash, like a head monster, who can withstand that! Even if you can’t take it, can’t you complain in your mother tongue instead of Dark Strip Language?!

Also, your Dark Strip Language has the accent; your whole family does!

“I said, I am your special training instructor…” Aslan repeated what she had said before being beaten up for the second time, enduring a shame that felt as hot as the sun.

Ye Zhongming rubbed his chin, looked at the sky, and felt like he might have done something wrong…

“What can you teach me?”

However, this feeling of guilt only lasted a second before being replaced by curiosity.

After her second treatment, Aslan felt a little better. The substance was Aether Gas, a healing potion specially made by the Aether Clan. Though the bones that had been broken couldn’t recover immediately, they were healing rapidly. The internal injuries had also returned to normal.

“I used a power to attack you earlier; you can choose one.”

Is that possible? Ye Zhongming’s eyes lit up.

Although Aslan wasn't his opponent, the abilities used by this birdman were quite good—whether it was the ability to automatically track targets, or the clone that exploded into poisonous smoke, or even poisoning in water, all of these were extremely useful skills in battle. Learning one of them would significantly enhance his strength.

“Can you teach me all of them?”

Ye Zhongming’s attitude improved a lot, which made Aslan feel a deep disdain in her heart, but she didn’t show it. After all, this trash had a criminal record; if she got beaten up again, she would die of shame and anger.

“It’s not as you imagine.” Aslan’s expression turned serious.

Regardless of how this trash treated her, the issue at hand was her job, and to put it more seriously, it concerned the survival of the entire Star-Eye Clan.
