Ye Zhongming sat alone in a corner, quietly watching two figures not far away engaged in a fight, well, let’s call them beings for now.
These were two beings standing at least two and a half meters tall, with muscular bodies and long white hair cascading over their shoulders. They looked very similar to humans, except their hands and feet had four toes, and they had prominent bony armors at their elbows and knees, which were not acquired but rather innate.
Additionally, their backs were not flat; there were two rows of bones evenly protruding along their spine, and it was unclear why they had such a structure.
Ye Zhongming could see that these two obviously related beings were not really fighting to the death; it was more of a contest of strength, demonstrating their power...
The King of Cloud Summit felt a sense of alarm.
From the force of their strikes, the frequency of their movements, and even the momentum, Ye Zhongming sensed a familiar essence.
Yes, it was the essence of a ninth-level being, just like him.
Not just these two restless fellows, but the beings present in this mysterious space were predominantly of this level. Even if there were a few slightly weaker ones, they were still quite similar.
When Ye Zhongming had finished setting up outside the Holy City, a beam of light in the sky locked onto him. To outsiders, it seemed as if the King of Cloud Summit had simply vanished into the light, but he knew it was a form of energy guidance; it was the entry ticket on him.
Ye Zhongming was unclear about the specific process, but after experiencing an uncontrollable sense of weightlessness, he lost consciousness. When he woke up, he found himself in an ecological pod.
Upon opening his eyes, the pod's door swung open. Ye Zhongming stepped out and discovered he was in a very cramped, elongated room. Besides the ecological pod and an open restroom behind, there was only a passageway in front.
Emerging from the passage, he entered into this oval-shaped light-colored space, surrounded by nearly a hundred passageways that looked exactly like the one he had exited.
There were also nearly a hundred beings here, a variety of existences, and in Ye Zhongming’s eyes, very few could be considered human.
Of course, he was likely not seen as human in the eyes of those other beings either.
The purpose of the entry ticket was to bring them here? This meant that many beings were granted entry tickets? If only about a dozen people on Earth had tickets, like Ji Rui Guang and Mu Hanyi, yet he didn't see them here, did that mean there were other spaces similar to this one?
Ye Zhongming scanned the area once more and found that apart from a few groups of beings whispering in different ways and languages, there were only those two of the same kind wrestling while the others, like Ye Zhongming, sat beside their respective passageways, observing with cold eyes and remaining vigilant.
Though these beings were diverse, they all shared one similarity: each wore only a thin garment; other than that, they had nothing.
Ye Zhongming's gear and space ring had all vanished, and he had no idea if they were taken away after being teleported here.
After spending about a few hours here, nearly every being displayed impatience. Some had begun to explore this enclosed space. Strangely, there were no windows or exits; it seemed entirely sealed off, with the restroom in the ecological pod at the back being surrounded by these unknown white walls.
Some attempted to attack these walls, but all efforts were in vain, only producing attention-grabbing ringing sounds without any effect.
Just as the mood among everyone began to turn uneasy and irritable, the space suddenly lit up. These beings looked up and saw the once-uniform space open up, as if an egg had been stood upright and sliced open at the top third.
Seven to eight beings descended from above, landing in the center of the space.
The leader had human-like facial features, but his face appeared as if it had melted, with over ten strips of flesh of varying lengths hanging down, giving off a sickly bluish-white hue.
