With a heart full of frustration, the Holy Maiden returned to her residence.
Just like her demeanor at the banquet, the current Dawn Holy Maiden was somewhat out of control regarding the Sanctuary.
Everything began with the departure of certain individuals.
Perhaps it was due to the collapse of faith, or perhaps it was because of the loss of past glory, or perhaps it was the loss of foundation.
Many steadfast believers who had devoted most of their lives to the Dawn Sanctuary were disheartened. After reaching West Asia and helping their kin settle down to establish secure camps, they gradually began to leave, citing reasons of exploring this unknown world and seeing how it differed from the Blue Secret Realm.
The reasons seemed ample, and they did not state that they would not return in the future, but everyone knew that they might never meet again; perhaps they would be separated by destiny forever.
The Holy Maiden understood in her heart that the emergence of this situation, aside from the reasons that could be presented on stage, had some deeper underlying causes.
For example, the harsh environment of West Asia had left many who once had optimistic visions of the future feeling cold. Even though this place was already much better than the Blue Secret Realm, compared to other locations on this planet, it was quite possibly the worst choice.
Did they resent Cloud Summit Villa? Yes, there was certainly some resentment, but it could hardly be termed hatred. After all, it was out of compassion that they were allowed to pass through the space-time gate. Otherwise, the ones with posthumous children could have left without a second thought, without needing to concern themselves with them.
To have such a place to settle down was already a blessing.
Moreover, in the initial stages of establishing themselves, Cloud Summit Villa provided a tremendous amount of assistance. Even if this help came at a price, it was still assistance, wasn’t it? The Sanctuary was ultimately an outsider; at the beginning, who else would care for them besides Cloud Summit?
For instance, how were the people here treated?
Even the most loyal individuals, despite having experienced failure in the secret realm, believed that it was merely fate, not that they were weak in strength, but rather that they were unprepared.
Once they arrived in West Asia, their sentiment was to fight again!
To carve out a territory truly belonging to the Dawn Sanctuary! Even if it meant sacrificing many!
Indeed, the environment in West Asia was harsh, but there were also many habitable areas. They viewed those as goals, and as long as they could conquer them, after around ten years of recuperation, the Sanctuary could regain its vitality. After another decade, they could reach the peak level they had attained during the Blue Secret Realm period.
Unfortunately, this kind of thought did not gain widespread support. Many were already weary of war; the sharp decline in population had led many to believe that initiating warfare again at this moment was an extremely unwise choice.
After all, such battles for survival were not something that could be resolved in a day, and they would be incredibly brutal, with deaths on both sides.
Moreover, these strong and loyal individuals had never put aside their grievances toward the Holy Maiden.
In the past, for the future of the Sanctuary, they had suppressed their dissatisfaction deep in their hearts. Once the external pressure was lifted, this dissatisfaction became increasingly evident.
This discontent naturally stemmed from the Holy Maiden’s “parricide”.
Yes, even though the Holy Maiden’s true intention at that time was for the good of the Dawn Sanctuary, and her starting point was to prevent the Holy Father from destroying everything, as time passed, this "parricide" label only intensified the pressure she bore.
For every person who was grateful to her, there was another who resented her.
This statement might be somewhat exaggerated, but it vividly reflected the Holy Maiden's situation at that moment.
