In the beginning, nobody in the room spoke, and Ye Zhongming quietly waited for them to begin.
Seeing their serious expressions, Ye Zhongming increasingly understood that this matter must be very significant.
Li Daqian and the water steward were somewhat more familiar with Ye Zhongming compared to the others. After exchanging glances, the former cleared his throat and said slowly, “Zhongming, during the time you went to vie for the Mountain King Plateau, some events occurred.”
Ye Zhongming raised his eyebrows and nodded, signaling Li Daqian to continue.
The boss of Ten Thousand Beast Manor took a sip of the drink on the table, feeling a wave of warmth rising from deep within his body, knowing it must be from Cloud Summit Delicacies.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the agency system has stopped all at once. All of us, all those agents selected by the All Races of the Universe, have lost contact with the heavens.”
Ye Zhongming hadn’t realized this yet because he had always been averse to cooperating with any race from the heavens. He merely accepted the tasks assigned by the heavenly races and completed them to exchange for the points he needed.
He thought that there simply hadn’t been any tasks at this stage and hadn’t considered that the All Races of the Universe and the evolvers on Earth had lost connection.
“What’s the reason?”
Under normal circumstances, such a thing wouldn’t happen. Since they came to find Ye Zhongming, they must have some information.
“At first, we weren’t clear either,” said the water steward. “We thought it might just be a lack of tasks, but you know, each agent has a different relationship with the heavenly races. Some forces still have ways to actively contact them.”
“For example, our Five Rings Society,” Elder Ouyang sighed.
Among those present, he was relatively older and had been one of the first to realize the situation.
“Many battle teams have developed with the support of the All Races of the Universe. Over time, a dependency forms, and when they find that they’ve lost contact, they will desperately seek the reason.”
Throughout the discussion, only one voice resonated in the room, while the others listened intently.
“Since you were absent, after Elder Ouyang realized there had been a change, he informed us. After some time, we confirmed that all connections were indeed lost.”
Commander Mu smoked his pipe, filled with tobacco produced in Cloud Summit. Now, Puxing Town was not just a trading place; it also housed many factories from Cloud Summit, such as those producing tobacco and alcohol, which were considered luxury items in the apocalypse but strategically insignificant.
“We began searching for the reason, and perhaps it was our good fortune to gather numerous pieces of information and make contact with other forces, leading us to a conclusion,” Wang Hanran, the always mysterious Boss of the Ogre Chain, said. His appearance was unremarkable, and it was said that he had many faces; it was unclear if this was truly his original visage.
“This thing, I don’t know if Boss Ye has it?”
As he spoke, Wang Hanran flipped his palm, and an item appeared on the table in front of Ye Zhongming.
The King of Cloud Summit’s pupils contracted as he nodded.
He indeed had this item, the ticket with a bizarre and strange design.
“When the All Races of the Universe cut off contact with us, no one noticed. Silently, they didn’t notify us at all. This is obviously abnormal; there must be a reason. After we discovered this, we felt that there must be something we all overlooked that relates to this matter. Finally, everyone sat together to discuss and reflect honestly, and we found that the vast majority of agents…”
Tong Steward’s voice remained soft, yet his expression was unprecedentedly serious.
“What I mean by the vast majority is that those who have worked closely with the heavenly races for a long time, or those who have had tight relationships, all received a ticket through task rewards or directly handed to them.”
