Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1720: Three Days Without a Beat: Razing the Roof 🏠✨

Published: February 12, 2025

The Yama Tree rolled back uncontrollably.

On her beautiful leather jacket, four holes appeared, revealing the reddened human skin underneath.

Almost simultaneously, the combat robot's feet were pulled back from the net, and after the Yama Tree's body rolled a bit, countless branches suddenly shot out, aiming towards Ye Zhongming's direction.

With a 'whoosh,' a faint blue smoke emerged from the back of the combat robot, which seemed to be hovering in the air, suddenly darted away to dodge the incoming branches. At the same time, one hand wiped down its leg, and a 'dagger' at least one meter long was grasped in its hand.

Taking advantage of the remaining momentum, the combat robot flew forward, slashing the dagger towards the Yama Tree's neck from the side.

The branches, having lost their target, suddenly changed direction and lunged at the combat robot piloted by Ye Zhongming. If they collided, the two would form a closed loop in mid-air.

The retracted legs swung back, knees bent, with the tops of the feet facing the back of the body. Some metal plates at the bottom fell off, as if shedding a layer of skin.

Just as these two metal plates detached from the combat robot's feet, they began to spin wildly, dividing into two and blocking the robot's back, entangling with the approaching branches.

The branches of the Yama Tree extended from her hands. When Ye Zhongming's dagger came in, she tilted her head, and her eyes emitted two beams of light, shooting forward into a green mist.

The dagger pierced through the mist, going in a little distance but couldn't advance any further.

Let's not forget, what was a longsword for others was a dagger for the combat robot, and it wasn't the robot's only weapon.

Another hand maneuvered from above and smashed down towards the Yama Tree's head.

There was no choice; the combat robot's body was huge, giving it a significant advantage in this aspect.

The Yama Tree's tendrils flung from beneath to the top of her head, weaving a fine, thin net. The robot's fist struck the net but failed to break through.

However, the robot's assault did not cease. The large foot that had just shed a layer of skin swung back, and due to its structure being relatively small compared to the Yama Tree, it couldn't directly attack the main body. Instead, it shot out several concealed weapons from the soles of its feet.

These items created blue trajectories in the air as they shot out, hitting the unprotected Yama Tree below.

Then, a small-scale explosion erupted, producing dazzling blue energy that spread like tadpoles from the struck body parts, seemingly trying to envelop the Yama Tree.

After being hit by this, the Yama Tree, who had already sustained several blows since the battle began, gradually became enraged.

Green light flickered in her eyes, and her leather jacket began to stretch. The areas on her body that had yet to be humanized were revealed.

This was a sign that she was about to launch a full-scale attack.

The sky, originally clear blue, now had a hint of green. The cloud summit warriors who had previously fought the Yama Tree in that ghost city recognized this as a sign of her activating the power of nature.

That was once the Yama Tree's most powerful skill.

But for some reason, the green energy that should have formed into a green cloud suddenly dispersed—so quietly!

Even the Yama Tree was momentarily stunned, unsure of what had happened.

The release of a skill is a smooth process of energy diffusion; when disrupted, it inevitably faces some impact. The Yama Tree was no exception, and the forced interruption of the power of nature caused her body to shake. Although this shake was minuscule, in the midst of battle, especially against a powerhouse like Ye Zhongming, it immediately exposed her vulnerability.

The green mist blocking the dagger first became very faint, shattered by the dagger, with its sharp tip slicing across the Yama Tree's face, leaving a wound over ten centimeters long.

It wasn't deep; in fact, no blood flowed out, but the ease with which it cut through the skin of a ninth-level lifeform was astonishing.
