“Are you sure?!” Ye Zhongming looked down seriously at the child.
“I... I’m not sure!” The King of Cloud Summit's facial muscles twitched, feeling speechless. Just a moment ago, he was adamantly saying he wanted to choose the advanced battle, and the next moment he suddenly changed his mind. Even in the apocalypse, this was too childish.
How could such an unreliable child lead a team that had passed three high-difficulty tests in the Mountain King Plateau Space?
The people behind the child burst into laughter, as if they had encountered something remarkable.
Under normal circumstances, if a person who should be a leader was mocked like this by his subordinates, it would indicate he had lost control of his team; it would be an embarrassment, not to mention the internal consequences.
But this child showed no signs of embarrassment and even wore a proud expression. He looked at Ye Zhongming and said, “Haha, you actually took that seriously?!”
“It’s the apocalypse now. Who would foolishly duel with you? TEAM, you understand? Just by looking at you, a South Korean, you seem so clueless. How did you get this far? Do you have any tricks?”
The child's face changed like the weather at sea; he had just been laughing and now he looked doubtful.
Ye Zhongming had never realized he had communication barriers, but now, facing this little boy, he felt a bit lost for words.
“Remaining choice time, three minutes.”
The prompt from the space sounded again, reminding everyone here to make their choices quickly.
“Let’s choose the arena match.” Ye Zhongming organized his emotions and said solemnly to the child.
He had his reasons for this choice. When both sides were unlikely to voluntarily withdraw, method three was the most beneficial for both parties.
Method one was not considered, and methods two and six were not options. One was a selection method, and the other was a luck-based match, both of which would leave the initiative in the hands of the Mountain King Plateau Space. Once chosen, it wouldn’t necessarily face any ‘unexpected events’. Only an evolver with serious issues would opt for these two methods.
This left three methods: advanced battle, arena match, and team battle. The advanced battle was what Ye Zhongming hoped for the most; he had complete confidence against opponents who were also evolvers. Be it the child clad in golden gear or others from that faction, he was not afraid and could win against them.
Choosing the advanced battle was his preference. After victory, he would receive excellent rewards. Though not as good as supreme rewards, he wouldn't have to face the inevitable loss of companions that other methods would bring.
Everyone from the Cloud Summit Villa was elite, and Ye Zhongming didn’t want anyone to get hurt.
But this child clearly rejected the advanced battle, leaving only the arena match and team battle.
Among these two methods, the arena match obviously had fewer participants, and even if there were sacrifices, the numbers could be controlled. As for rewards, they were not within Ye Zhongming's considerations. The team battle meant collective combat, and while Ye Zhongming was confident in achieving victory, he truly could not control casualties.
He could look down on the attitudes of the evolvers across from him, could label them as mentally ill, or could dismiss this child’s back-and-forth, but one thing he had to admit was that if the first three tests of the Mountain King Plateau Space were all the same, then this team that had passed definitely should not be underestimated.
Ye Zhongming would not underestimate them, which meant that the uncontrollable sacrifices in the team battle were something he did not want.
“Arena match?” The child’s eyes turned, filled with skepticism as he looked at Ye Zhongming.
“No, you’re definitely trying to set a trap for me. I can’t agree to you; we should rely on luck!”
If possible, Ye Zhongming really wanted to reach into the energy shield and strangle this little boy.
