Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1588: Eerie White Silk 🕵️‍♂️

Published: February 12, 2025

On the icy plains, the biting wind and snow made this place increasingly unsuitable for life to survive.

However, life still stubbornly lingered here.

A military force was trudging through the snow with great difficulty, the long line extending for several hundred meters.

The reason this could be called an army was not only due to its size, with over a thousand people, barely enough to call it an army. But more importantly, it was due to its equipment.

Not personal gear, but various armored vehicles, robots, mechanical devices, and even... flying machines.

From a bird's eye view, there were more than fifty armored vehicles alone. These were not the traditional armored vehicles found on Earth, but rather super-tech products. Just by observing their mode of movement, which was entirely levitating, one could tell.

These armored vehicles may not have exceeded human imagination, but the other weaponry in the ranks was completely from the round table or the All Races of the Universe.

They varied in size, resembling transformers-like humanoid robots, animal-like mechanical monsters, and bizarre entities combining mechanical and biological components.

Additionally, those flying machines were being towed by evolvers’ vehicles, advancing through the icy wilderness.

There were also heavy trucks modified to traverse the icy plains, filled with supplies covered by white cloth, the contents of which were unknown.

Three motorcycles sped in from the distance, kicking up a storm of snow behind them.

Soon, the three motorcycles merged with the team, arriving at the front half of a massive mechanical beast that stood five meters tall and over a hundred meters long. They rode their motorcycles to the underside of the beast's abdomen and waited for a few seconds before a beam of light shot out from the beast’s abdomen, enveloping the motorcycles, and they vanished shortly after.

When they reappeared, the three motorcycles were already inside the mechanical beast.

The riders jumped off their bikes, removed their helmets, and walked down a corridor filled with technological aesthetics, entering the cockpit at the front.

Inside, a man was standing in the 'eye' of the mechanical beast, gazing at the white scenery outside.

“Saint!”

The three motorcyclists bowed respectfully, their faces filled with reverence as they faced the man's back.

The man turned around, revealing a fair face. It was indeed Jannadrah.

Compared to the last two times Ye Zhongming had seen this saint from West Asia, he looked much younger, appearing to be in his forties.

“Countless mutated lives have gathered in Yakutsk city, and a human army is stationed outside the city. Both sides have engaged in numerous conflicts, but there are no signs of a decisive battle.”

“Hmm.” Jannadrah nodded, indicating he understood.

“I’ve contacted Alamos’s people. They are en route, but they didn’t specify where they were coming from.”

The person speaking continued to provide another piece of information.

“What about others? Any news?”

Jannadrah inquired further.

The individual before him was his intelligence chief, also the most outstanding scout among his subordinates. With his professional skills, he could scout areas over a hundred kilometers at a time, though such extensive reconnaissance would come at the cost of detailed information.

“There are no signs of Ten Thousand Beast Manor sending a contingent here. They are still hunting a herd of mutated elephants with four eighth-level lives in a mountainous area. As for the water steward, I’m sorry, saint, we haven’t been able to locate their camp.”

Jannadrah waved his hand, “It’s alright; it's already good to gather this information. As long as Ten Thousand Beast Manor doesn’t arrive, it’s fine. They... have quite a few troublesome things.”

“Then, what about Cloud Summit Villa?”

Jannadrah asked his most pressing question.

The intelligence chief lowered his head in shame, “I’m sorry, saint. At first, I couldn’t approach Cloud Summit Villa; their defensive measures within their territory were very tight. Even later, when I tried approaching the villa at night, I couldn’t get in. So, I can’t confirm if Ye Zhongming has set out.”
