This guy's body could be big or small. Ye Zhongming reached out to press on it, feeling its elasticity; it was icy to the touch and very soft.
"Aw?"
Now, a hellish creature that had shrunk to the size of a car looked at Ye Zhongming with one eye hidden in the upper half of its body, filled with confusion.
It seemed to be asking, why are you touching me?
Ye Zhongming walked around it, squeezed its tentacles, which were equally soft. Beneath the tentacles were fine strands of flesh, which could likely pierce the ground to anchor itself in place when needed.
Without any treatment, Ye Zhongming found a slight scar on the lower half of this spherical life form, very shallow, likely caused by the man-bear king during their earlier battle.
However, aside from that, he couldn't find anything else.
"Aw?"
The spherical life form emitted another simple sound.
"Can you understand my words?" Ye Zhongming asked first. Upon seeing the sphere's bewildered expression, he felt helpless. Could they only communicate mentally? Although it wasn't Ye Zhongming's battle beast, they could manage simple communication, but anything too complex was impossible.
This left him unable to figure out why the sphere could remain in this dimension rather than returning to the hellish world behind the door opened by its bloodline.
It seemed this would remain an unsolvable mystery.
Ye Zhongming also wondered if, in the future, when he used the hell messenger bloodline, more life forms would be summoned.
He thought about bringing this creature to Sister Hong for research. If they discovered the reason behind its strong defenses, it might lead to a leap in strength for Cloud Summit.
After the battle, the ice plains seemed unusually quiet that night.
Everyone rested well and set off north the next day.
As Cloud Summit moved forward in the dim light of dawn, a secret base of the five rings society was already in chaos.
Tong Steward and Elder Ouyang were in a room, frowning as they awaited results.
About ten minutes later, a person rushed in, drenched in sweat.
"Both stewards, the results have been confirmed."
Hearing this, both stewards instinctively straightened up.
"The sixth-ranked snow wolf king and the tenth-ranked man-bear king's life signatures have indeed disappeared, and the time interval is very short, not exceeding half an hour."
Tong Steward glanced at Elder Ouyang beside him, then continued to ask the person, "Can you determine the location?"
The person shook his head. "Our life signatures are emitted by that machine. Its coverage area is only half a national district, and the northern area has never been a key monitoring point for us. Upon hearing this, Tong Steward's eyes lit up. Black Dragon City?
This name had previously been obscure, but recently the intelligence department of the five rings society had been focused on that place because there was a piece of purple city defense equipment rumored to contain something highly coveted by ninth-level life forms.
For the five rings society, both items were incredibly valuable and could be sold for several times their purchase price.
"During the last scan, they were both in Black Dragon City and alive?" Elder Ouyang asked. After receiving a positive response, he and Water Steward both had their suspicions.
Could they have died outside the national border?
In the frigid Land of the Extreme North, aside from the uncertain Demon Witch Palace, the five rings society didn't believe there was anything worth paying attention to there.
"Alas, it seems we need to update the mutated life rankings again." Elder Ouyang shook his head.
He instructed Tong Steward to have the intelligence officer investigate Black Dragon City, ideally uncovering the cause of death, so they could provide an explanation to the evolvers in the national district.
The two continued discussing other matters and then walked outside together.
