In a tall building near the edge of the East District, a new branch of a bank is located here.
Ye Zhongming led a group of people into the branch and walked to a metal door.
"Is this the vault?"
Little Tiger came over to knock on it and looked around, realizing that the door was locked.
"It's just a safe," Ye Zhongming replied. "The vault is filled with cash and precious metals, which are of little use now."
"A safe? Are there good things inside?"
Le Da Yuan, having become familiar with everyone over the past few days, spoke more casually now.
"Not too bad, the lock isn't too complicated. Give me a bit of time, and I should be able to open it, but I’ll need some tools."
Le Da Yuan carefully examined the metal door lock with a flashlight. He was confident he could open it, as he was experienced with precision instruments and understood the principles of locks.
"No need for that much trouble; this isn't a national treasury," Ye Zhongming said.
As he spoke, he drew out the edge of the moon, embedded with Ghost Gold, slid it into the gap of the metal door, and forcefully slashed a few times, effectively cutting open the lock.
Everyone was a little unaccustomed to this violent method and felt a small thrill of guilty excitement.
Inside the safe was very orderly, with several large metal racks standing tall, filled with numbered safes. These safes varied in size and had different types of locks—some mechanical, some fingerprint locks—most likely due to their varying quality.
"There are probably a lot of things in here. Let me check," Little Tiger, lively and eager, began cutting into the safes with the edge of the moon. Before the white-grade weapons, these metal cabinets were as fragile as tofu.
"Sister Lei, Sister Lei, come quick! Is this emerald?"
Little Tiger opened a safe and pulled out its contents, finding a green stone in a box, quickly calling over Xia Lei, who was knowledgeable, for identification.
"Yes, it's emerald," Xia Lei said, shining her flashlight on it and giving a rough estimate.
After marrying Qin Yu, she had gained some understanding of luxury items, but compared to true wealthy individuals, her discerning eye was still lacking. However, within the armed police system, she was considered the best at identifying such items.
"It must be worth quite a bit."
"Just this piece..." Xia Lei thought for a moment and said, "It's worth at least close to a million."
"Wow, we hit the jackpot."
Everyone immediately ignored the guy who was a bit off.
"Zhongming, are there any good things here?"
Ye Zhongming scanned the safes and stopped at one marked B18. He cut the lock with the edge of the moon and pulled out a black long box.
"Do you remember the two evolvers we encountered in the market?" Ye Zhongming replied to Liang Chuyin while holding the box.
The internet celebrity girl nodded, "I remember, those two... beasts."
"They weren't good people, but they were once the trusted subordinates of the two leaders of the base. One of them survived and, out of desperation for his life, shared some useful information with me during the day."
"Is this a gun case?"
Park Soo-young, who had never dealt with such things before, looked at the item in Ye Zhongming's hand with great interest.
"The length of it... a sniper rifle?"
Mo Ye touched the box; it should be a customized case, so she wasn't sure what type of gun was inside.
Ye Zhongming examined the small lock on the box, gently pinched it, and pulled it off, opening the case. Under the illumination of several flashlights, everyone could see the weapon inside.
"Type 88?"
Several armed police exclaimed the name of the gun simultaneously, their eyes brightening up.
This was a domestically produced Type 88 sniper rifle, belonging to the previous generation of standard sniper equipment. Currently, the military mostly uses the M03 or M99 sniper rifles, and even the QBU10, which have been developed in recent years.
However, since the Type 88 was the world's first small-caliber sniper rifle officially in active service, it performed well in some peacekeeping missions and military competitions, attracting many admirers despite not having seen actual combat.
