Ye Zhongming was taken aback.
It had been too long since anyone had said something like that to him.
His subordinates adored him, practically speaking with honorifics in every sentence. His opponents respected him; even if they wished to kill him, they admired his strength.
However, no matter how long Ye Zhongming had gone without hearing that word, it did not prevent the killing intent that stirred within him.
Originally, he had intended to investigate what was happening here, but it was also acceptable to interrogate these people before taking them down.
But Ye Zhongming halted, as more people were approaching.
This time, it was a standard ten-member team from the apocalypse.
They were the kind of team that had defenders, melee fighters, agile speed evolvers, and ranged support; some of the more luxurious ones even had auxiliary professionals.
Ye Zhongming observed that this team had clearly undergone rigorous training, far superior to the few that had appeared in the broken house. They all wielded two types of weapons, one for ranged attacks and one for close combat, and wore standard battle uniforms, all silver in color.
What surprised the King of Cloud Summit the most was that all ten members were mounted on battle beasts, a type of low-level but clearly fast quadruped creature.
Which major organization were these members from? Ye Zhongming speculated in his heart.
Only those powerful factions ranked in the national district leaderboard, perhaps the top one or two hundred, could afford to field such a complete team.
The seven-star evolver who had told Ye Zhongming to get lost, upon seeing this team, ignored him entirely, directly darting out of the room and standing next to his two battle beasts, simultaneously speaking a sentence.
"Which captain from the Brocade Team is this?"
The voice carried out, causing the approaching ten-member team to slow their pace somewhat.
"Is it Meng Veterinarian?" one of the team members responded, clearly recognizing the seven-star evolver.
"It’s me, Captain Wang?"
As they spoke, they moved closer. The captain of the ten-member team was also a seven-star evolver, with more than half of his subordinates being six-star evolvers, and only four were five-star evolvers, making them quite a strong force.
The person called Meng Veterinarian visibly relaxed and leaned in to speak with this team, but the words were hard to hear over the rain. Ye Zhongming only managed to catch a few scattered words.
Reward… many people… rain… price…
From these words and phrases, he couldn't glean much.
Then, the group left their battle beasts outside and entered together.
At this moment, the twenty-odd people who had arrived earlier had automatically given way, moving to a corner, sitting tightly together as if they had been wronged.
In fact, if given a chance, they would rather leave immediately, but there was only one door, which was blocked by the ten-member team. The only way out was to break through the wall.
They could break through the wall, but if it caused misunderstandings, that would be troublesome.
Seeing the obvious space that had opened up, Captain Wang let out a cold smile and led his team over.
Even if their team's strength could withstand the rain-soaked journey without bad luck, he was still reluctant to travel in such weather.
Having a place to shelter from the wind and rain was certainly a good thing.
After sitting down, Meng Veterinarian appeared somewhat fawning, taking out several exquisite cakes from his backpack to share with Captain Wang and his subordinates, his tone quite flattering.
"Meng Veterinarian, why are you also getting involved in this? This matter could be quite perilous for a Lone Wanderer like you; if things go poorly, you might lose your life. Considering the cakes you brought, let me remind you, don't wade into these muddy waters, it's easy to get killed."
Meng Veterinarian’s eyes flashed with annoyance, but he concealed it well and maintained a smiling face, saying, "Fortune favors the bold; isn't that how it is in the apocalypse? Here in the northwest, we evolvers have fewer mutant creatures to hunt than in other regions. Now that we finally encounter such an event, we must give it a try; otherwise, who knows when we can evolve to eight-star!"
