Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1409: Spatial Shift (Part 2) 🌌

The energy had decreased by twenty-one percent, but there was still over forty percent remaining, and it was still increasing. This eased David's worries a little. He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately reached out and pressed a few buttons on some machines.

The second group to enter the space consisted of Alamos and Pamek, the boss from the Sandy Sea Colorful Tiles laboratory in Central Asia.

Alamos was naturally an eight-star evolver, and Pamek was also an eight-star evolver! He was a newly risen evolver from West Asia, apart from the two masters of the Holy City, just distant enough from the Holy City that there was no conflict or connection between them.

Once the two evolvers entered, the energy in the entire space immediately dropped significantly. David felt that his earlier decision was correct because the entry of two eight-star evolvers consumed a whole thirty-four percent of the energy!

On the display screen, there was only a little over ten percent energy left!

David had originally been pressing the machines in an orderly fashion, but upon seeing that only ten percent energy remained, he used both hands and started frantically pressing multiple buttons.

Everyone still in the space felt the tremors of the surrounding area.

The confrontation that was about to begin between Wen Yan and Guan Cheng Village... the mocking Alamos watching his opponent... Ye Zhongming, who was sitting calmly with his eyes closed... and Jannadrah, who was walking in the corridor and about to enter the small space...

Everyone felt that their surroundings were shifting, and the space emitted a subtle yet very clear hissing sound.

"David, what are you doing?!"

Alamos shouted, his face turning pale with fury.

The only ones who could understand how to control the space, besides him, were David. Now that the space was undergoing changes, it was obvious he was manipulating it.

But no one understood the Spartitu space better than Alamos. This space was essentially a mysterious equipment that combined energy technology and mechanical technology. Even Alamos, who obtained it, had not fully researched it and was unclear about many of its functions.

He had never shared this with David; in the apocalypse, keeping some secrets was essential. Alamos regarded these as a trump card.

David might know about some additional functions, but he had never actually operated it. Now, suddenly taking control during such a critical moment, what if something went wrong?

Alamos was filled with regret and fury, never expecting that the person he trusted the most would make a mistake at such a crucial moment.

But before he could say anything more, the scenery before him shifted, and his opponent was no longer the boss of Reborn Mount Hua but had transformed into Li Daqian and his son.

Both sides were stunned. Li Zhi Chong, of course, did not understand what was going on. He noticed that all his subordinates had suddenly disappeared, and the surrounding space had undergone slight changes. Most importantly, Wen Yan and the Four-Legged Monster from Guan Cheng Village, who held a deep grudge against him and his father, had vanished, replaced by the foreign sorcerer.

Alamos quickly understood what was happening and gritted his teeth, beginning to retreat.

Why did he choose to team up with Pamek? Because Pamek's sorcerer profession was a ranged support role; he needed someone strong to hold the front line. They had known each other in peaceful times and were renowned figures in academia, now trusted partners in the apocalypse. This time, they had come here with ample confidence, not only because of the Spartitu space and the entire plan built on it but also because of this good friend.

However, now that David was 'disobedient,' the space had shifted, separating Alamos from Pamek.

Amidst the shock and anger, Alamos felt a little relieved. Thankfully, he had been moved to the space with Li Daqian; otherwise, if it had been Ye Zhongming or Qin Ru, he would have had to fight for his life.

Like them, Wen Yan also wore a confused expression, followed by a bitter smile. He realized he had moved; just a brief blackout, and the Four-Legged Monster from Guan Cheng Village had disappeared. Now standing before him was not his recently betrayed 'close friend' Li Daqian, but the boss of Reborn Mount Hua, Qin Ru.
