Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1355: Is this all the people? 🤔

Published: February 12, 2025

Seeing the situation on the third floor, the majority of the people turned pale, some looked gloomy as water, while others were filled with rising anger. Only a middle-aged man with purple hair was smiling, showing interest as he observed Ye Zhongming.

The scene on the third floor was indeed quite unpleasant.

A few maids were huddled in a corner, shivering, the Insect Emperor Honey was nowhere to be found, and the old man guarding the shop was leaning against the wall, looking dejected and covered in blood...

No matter how one looked at it, the situation was quite bad; the only fortunate thing was that there were no casualties on the first, second, or third floor.

"Is it you who refuses to be disciplined and injured the city's guards on Perilla Street?"

The speaker was a tall, thin man, not very old but with a weathered look. He wore leather armor similar to that of the city guards, clearly part of the same system, but the emblem on his chest indicated a higher rank.

Ye Zhongming glanced at the situation and nodded.

"Quite bold, aren't you?" After the skinny man finished speaking, he clapped his hands, and Ye Zhongming heard some mechanical sounds around the small shop building.

He didn't need to look to know that the place must have been surrounded by heavy troops, likely from the city guards, and those mechanical sounds were probably from something like corrosive water sprayers they held.

"Wait, wait, ha ha."

The tense situation eased a little due to one person's interjection, the one with the smile.

The skinny city guard hesitated slightly upon hearing this but ultimately did not issue an attack order.

The smiling man took two steps forward, not immediately speaking to Ye Zhongming but instead looking at the three-legged old man.

"Uncle Long, are you okay?"

The old man looked ashamed, "It's fine, just sorry to the owner for not protecting the Insect Emperor Honey."

After saying this, he glanced at Ye Zhongming, and his meaning was clear: the item was in this person's hands.

The person referred to as the owner let out an "oh," turning his gaze towards Ye Zhongming, revealing a look of surprise. Clearly, he was trying to figure out where such a large piece of Insect Emperor Honey had gone. Soon, he realized something, and a glimmer of excitement appeared in his eyes.

Spatial equipment is extremely precious everywhere.

"Owner, stop wasting words with him, let's do this."

The three men who had been standing behind the owner had already taken positions in different directions on the third floor, their eyes gleaming, clearly ready to make a move.

Ye Zhongming scanned them and found that all three were experts, exuding an aura that even he would not underestimate.

This owner could stop the skinny city guard from taking action with just one word, and he had an old man and these three skilled individuals as subordinates, indicating that his status and strength were not ordinary.

It made sense; how could someone who could acquire something as valuable as the Insect Emperor Honey lack strength?

The owner waved his hand, not only refraining from speaking harshly to Ye Zhongming but even bowing to him.

"I believe this friend acted intentionally, right?"

What Ye Zhongming shouted when he came upstairs was not something a normal robber would do.

"Now that I'm here, can you tell me your purpose?"

Ye Zhongming suddenly felt some admiration for this owner.

To be able to say such direct words without questioning where his treasure went is not something just anyone could do.

"The goods here are diverse, may I ask, do most of them come from you or do your subordinates hunt for them?"

This question caught the owner off guard; he didn't expect such a powerful robber to ask such a question.

The owner smiled and replied, "Most are collected; my subordinates usually only operate in Hey Ant Valley."

Ye Zhongming nodded and thought for a moment before asking, "Then how far has your trade caravan traveled? Have you reached the borders?"

This question once again puzzled those present.
