Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1280: "Encirclement" 🕵️‍♂️

It was a peculiar-shaped irregular box that reflected the unique texture of metal under the sunlight.

The surface of the box was covered with various metal components, some of which clearly exceeded Earth's technology.

Ye Zhongming pressed a couple of buttons on it, and with a series of mechanical sounds, a cylindrical card slot appeared. He took out a few magic crystals and placed them inside, along with a magazine he had prepared earlier, inserting it into a section of the large box.

The bullet at the top glimmered with a green light, looking somewhat different from ordinary bullets with levels.

As Ye Zhongming manipulated it, a short metal tube only a few centimeters long slowly emerged from the front of the metal box, aiming at the shadow that lurked in the corner.

This device was called the Gun Pool Box; its name was a mystery to everyone, but since its creator, Le Da Yuan, called it that, so it was accepted.

This weapon was a byproduct of Le Da Yuan's research, or rather, it was a small-scale experimental model for weapon modification during the construction of a war fortress.

After it was completed, it was not utilized on the war fortress and was instead installed on the roof of Ye Zhongming's villa by Le Da Yuan.

In all of Cloud Summit, Ye Zhongming was the most suitable person to use this device.

Although it was a type of micro-weapon, compared to the weapons on the war fortress, the Gun Pool Box was not small at all. An adult man would have no physical advantages before it, making it quite inconvenient to carry.

Some manufacturing characteristics required the Gun Pool Box to have high usage standards. For example, it must be operated by a firearms professional, strength must reach a certain level, otherwise, one could not withstand the recoil. Perception must be sharp, or one would be unable to hit the target without any aiming assistance tools. The consumption was quite large; both magic crystals and level bullets were essential, and they all had to be of a high level. Furthermore, sufficient mental energy was necessary since it needed to be coordinated with gun skills, which consumed far more than the original amount.

In all of Cloud Summit, there was no one else with both the wealth and capability like Ye Zhongming.

The Gun Pool Box was essentially a sniper rifle powered by magic crystals, offering higher accuracy and greater power, but with a reduced range.

While it sounded straightforward, using it was anything but. With so many restrictions, the capabilities of the Gun Pool Box were undoubtedly top-tier, far more powerful than the sniper rifle Ye Zhongming had used before.

The shadow had just crossed the barrier but did not quietly leave Cloud Summit; it remained here. What did it intend to do?

No one knew, not even Ye Zhongming, but that did not stop him from knowing that this figure certainly held no good intentions.

Destroy this place? Or steal the Key of the Secret Realm? Or simply kill many here?

No matter which it was, Ye Zhongming could not tolerate it.

Thus, he decided to use this oddly shaped Gun Pool Box to give this shadow a lesson it would never forget.

Ye Zhongming’s gaze drifted, not directly looking at the shadow for fear of being discovered. Instead, he extended his mental energy towards that direction, adjusting the Gun Pool Box to an angle while the Holy Maiden and Yama Tree drew the shadow's attention.

Then, he aimed using his mental energy.

At least in all of Cloud Summit, only Ye Zhongming could do this.

Over there, the Holy Maiden and Yama Tree had already circled around the last villa separating them from the shadow. If both sides could see, they were already in each other's line of sight.

Ye Zhongming chose to fire at the same moment the Holy Maiden and Yama Tree revealed themselves.

A brilliant light, so bright it overshadowed even the sunlight, shot out from the short tube extending from the Gun Pool Box, reaching the shadow just as it was about to take action.

Everything happened too fast; the shadow, which had always been in control, barely had time to react before being struck by the bullet.
