The room fell into a brief silence as Ruan Xiao waited for Ye Zhongming to understand the implications of his words, while Ye Zhongming contemplated the choices he might soon face.
“Continue.”
Ye Zhongming's two words were a bit cold, but Ruan Xiao didn't mind at all.
“Up in the sky, there are three camps,” the manager of the Ogre Chain in the Southern District began to share what he knew.
“The Hall Planet Camp, the Lena Star Camp, and the Su Clan Camp.”
Everyone in the room listened quietly as Ruan Xiao spoke; they all knew that this might be the answer they had been seeking all along.
How did the apocalypse come about? What is the roulette? What kind of race is the slave race?
“If you want to know the specifics about these three camps, I can’t tell you much. It's not that I don't want to share, but I don't know either.”
Ruan Xiao took another sip of fruit wine. “Our Ogre Alliance belongs to the Hall Planet Camp and acts as the agent of the Phenasph people on Earth. They helped a lot in the establishment of our alliance.”
Another name of the All Races of the Universe; Ye Zhongming firmly remembered the words Phenasph.
“Behind the five rings society, there are those cosmic forces that appeared in the brightwater realm at the time. They all belong to the Lena Star Camp.”
Ye Zhongming thought for a moment; at least from his perspective, he didn't find any signs that Ruan Xiao was lying.
This doesn’t mean that everything this manager of the Ogre Chain said was entirely true, but it at least sounded credible.
During the brightwater realm incident, there was a force of every color that persuaded Ye Zhongming, and it was very orderly. Undoubtedly, they had coordinated well. Combined with the information obtained from other sources and what the Gore Clan had said, these forces labeled as the Lena Star Camp, while they may have competitive relationships, were indeed consistent in their stance.
At this moment, Ruan Xiao's body was sunk comfortably into the sofa in the room, as if the knowledge he had was still bringing him an inexplicable shock.
“Why are there factions? Why did they come to Earth? Are they over our heads? Why not just come down directly? What rules do they follow? Did they cause the apocalypse...?”
Facing this series of questions from Ye Zhongming, Ruan Xiao forced a smile.
“I knew you would have these questions, but I can't answer many of them because I’m not clear either.”
“However,” Ruan Xiao said in a deep voice, “what I do know is that the reason for the division into several major factions is due to their differing attitudes toward the roulette.”
Ye Zhongming's expression grew serious as he rested his arms on the couch's armrests. “Differing attitudes toward the roulette? Are you saying the roulette is not controlled by them?”
“No.” Ruan Xiao replied, “At least from what I understand, the roulette is not controlled by any one faction. That's why there are fundamental differences in viewpoints regarding this magical object. The Hall Planet Camp, where our Ogre Chain belongs, does not quite agree with the roulette's control over life planets, while the Lena Star Camp is the staunchest supporter of the roulette system.”
“I think you understand what this means. In simple terms, Hall Planet is the opposition, while Lena Star is the loyalist!”
So that's how it is! Ye Zhongming lowered his head, some of his questions were answered, but more confusion arose, especially regarding the most fundamental question about the roulette and the apocalypse, which Ruan Xiao had not answered.
“Manager Ruan, did you come here to ask me to join the Hall Planet Camp?” Ye Zhongming asked.
This question was more of a confirmation.
Since Ruan Xiao was able to come here and say these things to Ye Zhongming, the most likely scenario was that he was here to persuade him. After all, Cloud Summit Villa held significant power in the National District, and Ye Zhongming was being courted by several races from the Lena Star Camp. If he could join the Hall Planet Camp, it would undoubtedly bolster their regional power significantly.
