CHAPTER TEXT:
"Dr. He!"
Some warriors who had been in Cloud Summit for a longer time had encountered this important figure from the divine hall while in the competition of death roulette space. He was the only one who managed to escape from that terrifying space.
Later, due to the flame tiger project, Dr. He became an inside informant for Cloud Summit. It is said that he took his team into Liu Zhenghong's Life Gene Laboratory, but no one had seen him since.
Now, this tall, eighth-level lizardman-like creature that suddenly appeared on the side of Cloud Summit bore a striking resemblance to Dr. He.
Could it be...
Many Cloud Summit people began to think of a possibility. Combining some previous information, they gradually determined that this person should indeed be Dr. He, and he was a contingency prepared by the higher-ups for the ninth-level holy father.
However, the sudden appearance of divine punishment earlier had temporarily prevented this guy from making his appearance.
Now, under the almost overwhelming pressure of the holy father, Cloud Summit’s contingency started to reveal itself.
The holy father frowned slightly, looking at this ugly monster, which, in his eyes, was not worth much. While beings of this level might seem terrifying to others in this space, to him, they were nothing.
Usually, with just a wave of his hand, the holy father could make it vanish into thin air.
But right now, the holy father had just restored himself, having consumed too much energy, and his life was still teetering on the brink. He couldn’t exert himself too much. On the other hand, his newly reformed body was showing some signs of rejection, affecting his combat effectiveness and causing him to become cautious.
Furthermore, in his long life, he had never encountered such a being, and there was something very uncomfortable about this creature.
"Retreat!" Xia Lei ordered, leading her people to slowly withdraw from the city wall. She didn’t want to become a target again.
The holy father glanced at them but didn’t intervene. It wasn't that he didn’t want to, but rather that he was unwilling. Because at his speed, as long as he understood what this creature below was, after killing it, Xia Lei and the others wouldn’t be able to escape from his grasp no matter where they ran.
Dr. He sniffed vigorously, making heavy snorting sounds. When he raised his head and saw the holy father, it was as if he had spotted something that attracted him. His eyes turned blood-red, and tilting his body back, he let out a tremendous roar directed at the holy father.
Looking at the holy father now, Dr. He showed no regard for the level difference, letting out a provocative cry.
The hostility in the holy father’s eyes grew stronger.
In this space, no one dared to treat him with such contempt—not even the beast from the Cursed Abyss.
Dr. He’s body resumed its crouch on the ground, prompting a cold snort from the holy father, which slightly alleviated his hostility.
However, Dr. He’s change immediately caught his attention. He noticed the broad, scaly back of this unknown life writhing irregularly, as if something within was trying to break free.
With a tearing sound, scales burst open, and two enormous fleshy wings shot out. These wings were dark brown, of average width but exceptionally long, extending at least five meters when spread.
Simultaneously, the gap on his back, created by the emergence of the wings, healed in the blink of an eye.
This left the holy father looking astonished.
He was certain this was a form of self-repairing ability. It likely consumed energy, but it was passive, similar to growing a body—requiring only a bit more food intake.
Compared to this self-repairing ability, the holy father’s active repairs seemed trivial.
If only he could obtain such an ability...
The holy father’s thoughts shifted, and he charged down, with the blood vessels replacing the fingertips on his left hand thrashing wildly, ready to absorb this being's energy for himself.
