Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1206: Madness (Part 2) 🌀

Published: February 11, 2025

Several groups of warriors were gathered around the Holy Father, who wore a large robe and sat beneath the towering Power of the Gods, kindly observing his subordinates.

These were once the hopes, and they still are, albeit with a different meaning.

Previously, they were the foundation of the Temple of Dawn, the basis for the continuity of a species, and a strong backing for his rule.

Now, they were simply…

The movements of the Temple of Dawn had triggered a heightened tension among the posthumous children, especially with the appearance of the Holy Father, which stirred up a wave of fear and chaos.

There was no way around it; everyone had witnessed the power of divine punishment. The posthumous children had already paid the price of the Previous Generation Guardian of the Sacred Pool and the entire Sacred Pool. That overwhelming force had failed to kill this ninth-level expert, and after losing divine punishment, how could they possibly respond to him?

Many people began to get busy, issuing a series of commands, while some resting troops entered a state of combat readiness, beginning to gather towards the city walls.

Xia Lei and the others immediately closed the space-time gate to prevent the ninth-level expert from forcibly breaking through to Earth.

On the other side, the Holy Maiden, Rong Zhi, and Nan Jin were standing far away. They had also been attracted by the call to assemble, but upon arriving, they found themselves isolated outside the battle formation. The Holy Father had no intention of summoning them over, let alone explaining the purpose of gathering the troops.

“Children, a few days ago, we encountered failure,” the Holy Father suddenly spoke, his kind and gentle voice spreading in all directions.

There was some agitation below, both from hearing the Holy Father speak personally and from the mention of that defeat.

Many warriors of the Temple of Dawn still could not accept the reality of their defeat, believing that they simply hadn’t captured the Royal City yet.

The biggest obstacle, the city walls, were no longer a problem. Although several gaps were currently blocked by rubble, they posed no threat. The significantly reduced siege weaponry meant that the firepower they faced was weakened, allowing them to focus more on charging forward. In terms of warrior numbers, although they had suffered a painful reduction, they still maintained some advantage overall, and their individual combat quality surpassed that of the posthumous children.

Given this situation, the previous battle could only be viewed as a temporary setback.

Now, the Holy Father had recovered from his injuries and it was time to regroup and attack the Royal City!

Ordinary warriors couldn't quickly grasp the overall situation of the team; their thoughts were relatively simple, and their admiration for the Holy Father remained strong.

“But it doesn’t matter, I am here, you are here, and victory is upon us.”

The Holy Father stood up, which greatly dispelled the rumors that he had lost half of his body, undoubtedly boosting the confidence of these warriors.

“Holy Father! Myriad Zun!”

Such calls echoed throughout the outside of the Royal City.

From a distance, the Holy Maiden watched, her lips curving into a smile.

“Are you willing to follow me to break this dilapidated city before us?!”

“Willing!”

“Are you willing to follow me to avenge our fallen comrades?!”

“Willing!”

“Are you willing to follow me to another world, to showcase the eternal spirit and loyalty of the children of Dawn?!”

“Willing! Willing! Willing!”

“Very well, my children, I will fulfill your wishes. We… are forever together!”

As the Holy Father finished speaking, he extended a hand from beneath his robe and struck it down upon the Power of the Gods tower. The entire Power of the Gods lit up, and then streams of subtle light began to radiate outward from the metallic platform connecting to the tower.

If one looked closely, they would notice that these lights contained thin red tubular substances.
