Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 1181: Fifty! šŸŽ‰

Published: February 11, 2025

Some things happen in such a way that when you think something is impossible, it unexpectedly overturns your understanding in an extraordinary manner.

Ye Zhongming was originally not given much hope; even the members of the Nalan battle team consoled themselves with the mindset of ā€œNo one is perfect; Boss Ye might not be able to do this.ā€

However, when this person they thought couldn't do it suddenly surged up the rankings with a nearly determined attitude, the overwhelming impact shocked everyone.

The difficulty of the steps seemed to be nonexistent for Ye Zhongming as he passed through them at nearly the same speed. When he stood on the forty-eighth step, he had already surpassed all his opponents.

Everyone stared blankly, still unable to wake up from this shock.

At this moment, those who had spoken ill of Ye Zhongming earlier wished they could hide behind everyone else. Although Gao Yi and Zhao Xiangxue did not verbally attack them, the obvious disdain on their faces was enough to make them feel extremely embarrassed.

Zhang Zhongzheng was naturally burning with anger, but he still held a glimmer of hopeā€”he prayed that Ye Zhongming would encounter an irresistible danger during such rapid advancement and ideally perish.

At one point, Zhang Zhongzheng thought his hope might become reality when Ye Zhongming took noticeably longer on the forty-ninth step, allowing the other three to catch up a bit.

However, regardless of whether Ye Zhongmingā€™s time increased, he still stood on the fiftieth step in Zhang Zhongzheng's ā€˜tragicā€™ gaze!

Now, Tong Steward, Water Steward, and Zhang Hengtai had fallen out of focus; everyone was fixated on Ye Zhongming, speculating if the fifth step, which should be the highest level of difficulty, could stop the rampaging Ye Zhongming or allow him to continue advancing.

Time passed second by second, and aside from the three stewards who made new progress, everyone elseā€™s eyes didnā€™t move an inch, as if waiting for some kind of judgment.

When the other three passed the forty-eighth step, now only one step behind Ye Zhongming, the noise at the scene gradually resumed.

They saw Ye Zhongming being held up, as well as the others making a dash for it; the gap between them was not yet at a level that felt hopeless.

However, just as many thought the other three could soon catch up to Ye Zhongming on the same step, the entire Heavenly Stele Path suddenly shook, and the four people inside appeared in an open space, causing the Heavenly Stele Path to disappear.

Among the four, only Ye Zhongming remained calm. After a brief surprise, Tong Steward fell silent, looking at Ye Zhongming with a peculiar expression. Water Steward and Zhang Hengtai appeared a bit flustered; they seemed still in a combat state and hadnā€™t had time to withdraw, causing some energy to spill out.

Fortunately, they were far from the crowd, and the energy wasnā€™t directed towards them, so it didnā€™t cause any accidents.

However, these two clearly didn't know what had happened; after looking around, they spotted the rankings on the enormous Crystal Pillar, their expressions complex.

Ye Zhongming was first, having reached the fiftieth step. Tong Steward was second, at the forty-ninth step, while Water Steward and Zhang Hengtai were tied for third at the forty-eighth step.

This meant that, in that instant, Tong Steward had completed the challenge of the forty-ninth step.

Ye Zhongming stood for a moment, not waiting for any change in the colors of the space. He glanced at the rankings, lost in thought.

At that moment, four light orbs appeared at the entrance of the Heavenly Stele Path the several individuals had chosen, shimmering with a faint white light.

Without a doubt, these were the rewards.

The four of them went to pick them up but chose not to open them, instead returning to their respective teams.

The space of the Heavenly Stele was about to close quickly, and everyone hurried out. Tong Steward tested his control over the brightwater realm, which remained intact and had significantly strengthened, with some new knowledge entering his mind for the first time.
