CHAPTER TEXT:

"Is this what you want me to do after letting me down?"

Crouching on the ground and trying to conceal her exposed vulnerability, Garan asked the man across from her with an incredulous expression.

Ye Zhongming was busy repairing Garan's battle armor.

Repairing items is different from manufacturing them; it is a direction that a craftsman must explore on their own.

When making something, professional skills, blueprints, and relatively strict specifications are required.

But repairing items is different; it tests a craftsman's understanding of the equipment, knowledge of materials, and professional proficiency.

For instance, when repairing a piece of equipment primarily based on water attributes, one cannot add fire attribute materials. Instead, one has to select other materials conducive to fusion and master the timing for integrating these materials.

In summary, for a skilled craftsman, repairing equipment is somewhat less laborious, but the challenge lies in comprehending the characteristics of the equipment being repaired, which can sometimes be time-consuming. For an ordinary craftsman, it is even more labor-intensive and usually results in poor repairs.

So regardless of which craftsman it is, as long as the conditions allow, they would rather remake an item than attempt a repair.

Ye Zhongming had the same mindset before, but when he casually explored this piece of equipment while carrying Garan down, he discovered that it met his requirements quite well, thus changing his mind and deciding to repair it for her.

"What did you think?"

Looking up at the trembling woman opposite him, he paused for a moment and took out a pair of red wristbands from his space and tossed them over.

These were two Soul Artifacts he had made during practice; their function wasn't very strong, but they could continuously emit fire attribute energy. As long as the abilities within them weren't activated, they could serve as a mild heat source to a certain extent.

"Wow, good stuff."

Garan, who was on the brink of collapse, felt much better now, especially after realizing what she was supposed to do, which uplifted her spirits considerably.

Putting on the wristbands, her body immediately felt much warmer, and the surrounding chill was blocked to a large extent. At least at the entrance here, she could barely escape the bone-chilling cold.

However, Garan suddenly realized that Ye Zhongming's attitude while speaking to her carried an unintentional disdain.

"I know I'm not strong, but you need me, don't you? Can you please not act like I'm dispensable?"

What Ye Zhongming wanted Garan to do was to guide him the same way she had come in, acting as his guide.

In Garan's view, this was her value.

"You..." Ye Zhongming hesitated for a moment but still said, "I can't say you’re dispensable. After all, you can provide me with first-hand information, but honestly, it wouldn’t make much difference without you."

Garan's mouth hung open in shock as she stared at the man focused on her battle armor, feeling an urge to rush over and take a bite out of his delicate face.

Compared to intentional disdain, this blunt, straightforward dismissal felt even more frustrating.

"Stop boasting. For me, you would pay a tenth of the reward. If I were really that dispensable, would you do that?"

Upon hearing Garan's words, Ye Zhongming glanced at her appreciatively.

The fact that she could think of this meant at least she wasn’t a woman with a large chest and no brains.

Speaking of which, Ye Zhongming couldn’t help but glance at the area she was tightly hugging, thinking that indeed, that part was large. The first two characters of the term suited her perfectly.

Aside from Xia Lei and Miya, no woman Ye Zhongming had met could match Garan.

"What you said makes sense; I can tell you the reason directly," Ye Zhongming said, not knowing what materials he had added to Garan's battle armor. The blazing flame combat technique manifested in his hand, almost instantly melting the materials he added in. The previously patchwork armor began to emit a faint glow, shimmering as it repaired the damaged areas.
