“What is this?”
The three stewards looked at the small item on the table and couldn't recognize it. It seemed to be a type of medicine.
Ye Zhongming smiled. In this apocalypse, people could recognize potions or scrolls, yet when presented with an ordinary tablet from the peaceful times, they became suspicious and hesitant to confirm its nature.
“You can take a look at this first,” Ye Zhongming said as he pulled out a few sheets of paper from his space and handed them to the three stewards.
These were two reports, both originating from Cloud Summit. One was a statistical report that lacked scientific rigor, filled only with a pile of data that was enough to shock anyone who read it.
It recorded the changes in the bodies of evolvers after they were evolved using the Evolution Potion, particularly focusing on pathological changes.
The proportions of deformities, unusual characteristics, frequent bleeding, and unexplained fainting were alarming to see. The report even listed the factions that provided the data, the number of people involved in the investigation, and included some printed photos. Although not very clear, they were sufficient to reveal some of the growths on the human body.
These were not unfamiliar to the stewards.
Not everyone could live a carefree life like Ye Zhongming or these stewards. In this bloody apocalypse, the vast majority of people were struggling to evolve while battling the harsh environment and mutated life forms.
They also had to face the constant issues of daily survival.
For example, finding clean water sources, searching for food to fill their stomachs, locating a warm and dry place to sleep, and looking for clean clothing and hygiene supplies…
But all of this was very difficult.
Most of the evolvers relied on their strong bodies, drinking contaminated water and eating meat that might be undercooked and full of pathogens, using the sky as a blanket and the ground as a bed. They prioritized safety when looking for a place to rest. If they could sleep soundly, they would rather sleep in the stinking sewage of a gutter than in a dry, clean place that could be attacked at any moment.
Moreover, the level of their equipment did not mean it was free from dirt; it also needed to be wiped and cleaned. But was there enough clean water and time for that? And how often could they take a shower? What kind of water did they use when washing?
In the various human bases of the apocalypse, it was common to see disheveled individuals with foul odors; cleanliness was a rarity.
Don’t think that Ye Zhongming or these stewards, or even those attending the Ming Water Banquet, were all clean and tidy. The most they had were some odd clothing styles that signified the apocalypse! This was because these individuals were leaders of various factions, and their power afforded them a relatively comfortable lifestyle.
These were the few, the people at the top of the pyramid. Just like in peaceful times, when people wore Chanel, Hermès, and Armani.
But this does not mean these people did not understand what ordinary folks looked like.
So when the three stewards saw this report, they immediately recognized its truth. The only difference was that they had never compiled such statistics before, and now seeing the proportions was quite shocking.
The second report was much more professional, mainly discussing the causes of these conditions and how to respond to these changes under the premise that the external environment could not be altered.
This report was personally written by Liu Zhenghong.
After carefully reviewing both reports, the stewards looked at Ye Zhongming with complex expressions.
If they didn’t understand Ye Zhongming’s intentions by now, they would truly be fools.
“I suddenly feel that Mr. Ye is more suited for business than we are,” Elder Ouyang sighed lightly, downing the wine in his glass.
He, along with Tong Steward and Water Steward, were all intelligent individuals. Even though Ye Zhongming had not said anything yet, they quickly perceived the prospects and market for this tablet almost instantaneously.
