“Eerie Pit: Completion Rate, 8.3%.”
“Number of Participants: 38.”
“Completion Rate Ranking: Black Death Star Legion, 3.1%.”
“Guiding Sword: 1.8%.”
“…”
“Rewards Obtained: Black Death Star Legion, Three-Star Evolution Elixir, Lightweight Crossbow (White)…”
As soon as Ye Zhongming entered the Eerie Pit, this information appeared on the nameplate. He merely glanced at it before putting it aside, focusing on his surroundings.
The Eerie Pit was far from the elegant and refreshing appearance of the Puppet Ruins; it was completely a damp, dark underground tunnel filled with a fishy smell.
Even though the Brightwater Realm was a subspace, it was vibrant and colorful, with no sense of oppression. But here, it was different; just a few seconds inside would make one frown, wishing to leave as soon as possible.
It was cold, damp, foul-smelling, and dim, as if every corner held a danger.
Ye Zhongming wondered what kind of challenges awaited here.
Just as he thought this, he suddenly raised his hand, and a white light shot from his palm, illuminating the ceiling of the tunnel in front of the three of them.
A piercing scream echoed, causing a look of pain to appear on the faces of the three.
Mental interference?
This discomfort was fleeting for Ye Zhongming. He quickly took a few steps forward, and using the torch already lit by Gao Yi, he saw a creature the size of a pig struggling on the ground, beneath it was a pool of increasingly large green blood, emanating a fishy odor that was similar to but even stronger than the air around.
Drawing the white dagger obtained from the Puppet Ruins, he pierced the creature, which convulsed violently before dying completely.
“What strong vitality!” Zhao Xiangxue squatted on the other side, inspecting the corpse. She saw that the boss's dagger had entered the creature's head, pierced through its body, and finally exited through the other side.
In other words, this dagger had penetrated from the creature's head to its feet. Yes, this monster was hanging upside down from the top of the tunnel.
“This is a giant bat?!” Zhao Xiangxue wasn't scared of such a creature, but instinctively felt a bit nauseous.
Ye Zhongming nodded; he also thought this mutated bat was quite ugly, but he was more concerned about where the rewards were and whether there would be puppet soldiers or something similar.
“Boss, the eyes.”
Zhao Xiangxue pointed at the monster's head.
Ye Zhongming looked up and indeed found two eyes that were overly bright on the creature's face. Digging them out, he held them in his palm and realized they resembled two dark gems rather than eyeballs; they were truly unique.
After putting these away, Ye Zhongming carefully dissected the monster but found nothing; it seemed this creature itself did not carry any rewards.
Ye Zhongming took out some water to wash his hands, observing the surroundings, but saw no useful discoveries, ultimately having to choose a direction to move forward.
However, after taking a few steps, Ye Zhongming backtracked to take Gao Yi's torch and looked at the spot where the monster had been hanging, discovering a depression. He jumped vigorously and felt around inside. When he landed, Gao Yi and Zhao Xiangxue saw Ye Zhongming holding a half-sized orb in his hand.
“Illuminating Pearl.” Ye Zhongming recognized this item; it was produced on the roulette and was meant for illumination, providing several brightness levels to choose from but required mental energy to be injected.
Such items were almost present in every team several years after the apocalypse, and the level was gray.
It seemed there were indeed rewards, but they were somewhat hidden.
However, Ye Zhongming was slightly puzzled; this was merely the entrance, and everyone who entered would pass through here. How come the previous people hadn’t killed this monster?
He observed the ceiling and discovered several of these depressions. Ye Zhongming began to understand; perhaps there had been many monsters here before, and the coming evolvers had cleared them out once, with this one being a fish that slipped through the net—having escaped before and now encountering Ye Zhongming again.
