Li Qiang shook his head, “That battleship is filled with technology products that we don’t have on Earth. To be honest, my education is not high, and I haven't received higher education, so I can’t even guess what’s going on. All I know is that everything can be controlled remotely, because when those devices conducted experiments on us, there were no signs of life. Until…” He took a deep breath, as if recalling the scene at the time made this man, who faced dozens of mutated beings of the same level without flinching, feel a shiver.
“Until that place was attacked, and our experimental cabin broke, I saw a few very strange corpses.” He looked at Ye Zhongming and whispered, “You know, evolvers at a certain level can sense the strength of other life forms. Although I don’t know your evolution level, I can feel that you are stronger than me. The same goes for those corpses; even though they are already dead, I can still sense the enormous energy contained within them, even more powerful than what I feel from you—much more powerful.”
Ye Zhongming knew that Li Qiang probably had this sensitivity because, as a professional athlete, he must be very attuned to external environments. So when Ye Zhongming, shocked by this information, forgot to hide his aura, Li Qiang was able to sense the intensity of his energy.
But much stronger than himself?!
Ye Zhongming couldn't help but speculate that if those dead bodies gave Li Qiang such a feeling, then how strong would they have been when they were alive? Moreover, they were killed!
Li Qiang then described the appearance of those corpses to Ye Zhongming, confirming that they were definitely not human beings from Earth.
“We are unsure of their purpose in experimenting on us, but one thing is certain: they have enemies, and they are very powerful.”
At this point, Li Qiang’s mood grew a bit somber.
“Since returning to Earth, I often recall the situation back then, and I increasingly feel… the life on Earth, seems like mere test subjects for these beings, we are just like their playthings.”
Ye Zhongming didn’t respond, because he often had this feeling too.
In his past life, his abilities were not sufficient to touch upon or consider such matters; surviving was already commendable. But in this life, when his strength was already at the pinnacle of current humanity, he had no choice but to think about it.
Because he was about to reach the mountain peak, and those life forms were in a place where they could be seen by looking up from the summit.
Moreover, the pride from living two lives made Ye Zhongming extremely disgusted by the feeling of being toyed with; he would do everything possible to escape this fate.
He didn’t share this with Li Qiang, simply because this person was not yet capable of sharing that burden with him.
“How did you survive?”
Faced with Ye Zhongming’s question, Li Qiang seemed a bit confused, “I don’t remember the later events clearly; it seems some of the life forms that attacked us did something to us. When it was my turn, the reinforcements from the battleship arrived, so they were a bit negligent in their actions towards me, allowing me to retain some memories.”
“But I still remember it’s a bit fuzzy, just that I was vaguely sent back to Earth by a beam of light, and I got separated from the people at the new base. I don’t know where they went; I just know that when I woke up, I was on a glacier, and after walking for a while, I encountered the five rings society and was captured by them.”
Ye Zhongming thought for a moment, “How long has it been since then?”
“It’s been three months.”
“So, you’ve been in outer space for over half a year?”
“It should be.”
The two fell into silence; this information was quite heavy for both of them.
“You’ve been here for three months; what do you know?” Ye Zhongming changed the topic, deciding not to discuss those matters anymore. With his current abilities, knowing more would be useless; he could only touch upon such matters after reaching nine-star, otherwise, it would all be empty talk.
