Who is Li Qiang?
This person is the national-level shooting athlete whom Ye Zhongming encountered shortly after his rebirth in the new district base. At that time, Li Qiang was not yet an evolver but had gathered a group of former colleagues to stand toe-to-toe with Director Wang and chef Jin in the new district base.
Even Ye Zhongming, who was already a one-star evolver at that time, was unsure of being safe from his shooting.
The two were not enemies and even made a trade; Ye Zhongming gave Li Qiang a bottle of One-Star Evolution Elixir and a modified handgun, and in return, received the basic puppet technique from Li Qiang. This eventually led to the birth of Red Hair.
Later, after Ye Zhongming left the new district in the care of the family members, Li Qiang expressed a desire to follow Ye Zhongming, but he was rejected. Although they had fought together and Li Qiang had performed well, Ye Zhongming had too many reservations due to the limited understanding of this person. Moreover, Li Qiang and his subordinates were skilled fighters, and keeping them around could help the family members better defend the base.
After leaving, Ye Zhongming lost track of Li Qiang’s whereabouts and even the news regarding the new district base. It wasn't until the establishment of avoidance that he learned the new district base was no more, and he had no idea where the people had gone or if they were still alive.
When he saw Li Qiang’s image in the casino earlier, Ye Zhongming wanted to meet him.
He wasn't resting his eyes; instead, he had been probing the area trying to find the route that these competitors would take to enter the arena. In this aspect, Ye Zhongming could only rely on his vast mental strength, but he lacked the relevant skills, so while he gained some insights, it was only a rough idea.
The battle in the arena had begun, and Ye Zhongming watched intently. Li Qiang was much stronger now than he had been nearly two years ago; he was already a four-star evolver and should have learned some kind of gun technique. With dual guns in hand, he was skillfully rolling them, and bullets formed a metallic wall in front of him.
His speed was also impressive, constantly moving in the arena while maintaining a distance from the Terracotta Warrior Boars.
The Terracotta Warrior Boars were also four-star evolved lifeforms, and with more than ten of them charging at once, Li Qiang found himself in a very unfavorable position.
The boars had a thick armor resembling cracked soil, and the two handguns Li Qiang held were only white-grade weapons. The bullets were ordinary, making a popping sound as they struck the armor, splattering pieces of what resembled soil but evidently causing no damage to the boars themselves.
To kill these creatures, one had to hit their eyes, ears, or the open mouths precisely.
But in the midst of rapid movement and the cunning, coordinated charge of the herd of boars, it was easier said than done to hit these well-protected areas.
Li Qiang emptied two magazines without killing a single Terracotta Warrior Boar.
This made the audience increasingly dissatisfied, feeling that this was a gladiatorial match without any suspense, and many began placing heavy bets on the boars.
Ye Zhongming observed carefully and glanced at the odds on the control panel, shaking his head. The five rings society was clearly setting up a trap, making everyone believe that the mutated lifeforms would win, but the outcome…
With Ye Zhongming's insight, he could see that Li Qiang was not going all out, evidently collaborating with the five rings society to swindle money.
Watching the frenzy of evolvers on the first floor, Ye Zhongming wondered how much these people would be exploited for the wealth they had accumulated through life-and-death struggles during their days in the brightwater realm.
Sure enough, at a certain moment, Li Qiang began to counterattack. His legs suddenly pushed off the ground, propelling his body into the air, and his hands became ethereal before a gunshot rang out.
