“Where are you going?” The three of them almost said in unison.
They simply couldn't believe that this person would make such a request.
Where is that place? It’s a concentration camp for monsters, their lair. Going there is just looking for death!
“No!”
The captain decisively rejected the proposal. Although he now had a white weapon in hand, he didn’t feel that it was enough to risk going there.
Ye Zhongming smiled. He had anticipated this outcome. He already had a preliminary plan in mind, and these three were still very important to him, so he didn't lose his temper, but instead gestured for them to wait a moment.
The three exchanged glances, unsure of what this man meant, but their suspicion toward him had already begun to grow.
Even the most ambitious rookie wouldn’t dare to risk going to a place known to have mutated life forms of up to level six. Either this person was out of his mind or had ulterior motives.
But what Ye Zhongming did next left them utterly speechless.
They watched as the man in clean clothes pulled over two pieces of the Double-Mouthed Stone Ox's carapace he had been dragging. After glancing around, he aligned the triangular bases together, then performed some unknown action. In a flash of light, the two pieces of carapace fused together.
The three of them couldn’t tear their eyes away from the spectacle.
Ye Zhongming then casually took out a green-level short knife, commonly used for crafting equipment, from his space, and carved a circular hole in the center of the two now-connected shells, large enough… for a human head to fit through.
After which, he added some materials he had previously collected from monsters in the area, and shortly after, the two pieces of carapace transformed into a piece of white-level battle armor.
Although this armor was extremely crude, made up of just a front and back piece without any protection for the ribs and arms, it was long enough that when worn by an adult male, it could sufficiently cover the third leg below.
The three of them stood in stunned silence, first admiring this extremely basic armor which even Ye Zhongming himself seemed to disdain, before shifting their gaze to the small green-level knife that had appeared out of nowhere.
Then they finally understood why this person had previously been able to wander around here with a white weapon, because he had spatial equipment!
Their gazes towards Ye Zhongming immediately changed.
A four-star evolver is one thing, but a four-star evolver with spatial equipment is an entirely different concept, and one with a crafting profession is even more of an extraordinary existence.
This person before them was just such an existence.
“This is for you, as a reward for guiding me. Don’t worry, you just need to bring me nearby, and I can handle the rest myself.”
The captain instinctively took the white battle armor before realizing it was in his hands. He smiled a bit awkwardly, the struggle in his eyes vanished after Ye Zhongming said this.
He didn’t have to go in himself, so what was there to be afraid of?
He even felt that today was his lucky day; he had effortlessly traded two useless pieces of information for a white dagger, and now he could get a piece of white-level battle armor just for leading the way. These benefits were practically a windfall.
And although this captain had been thrown into the mine for some reasons and hadn't evolved in a long time, his initial level as a four-star evolver was definitely elite outside. He realized that perhaps he could gain even more benefits from this man.
The three of them began to lead the way, their glances at Ye Zhongming filled with fervor.
They knew what it meant to encounter someone like him.
“It’s just ahead, but once we get there, don’t speak casually. It’ll be troublesome if we startle the monsters.”
The captain reminded them. Although Ye Zhongming had shifted from being a trading partner to someone they needed to curry favor with, their own lives were more important.
