This is Satou. In the early days of computer games, you often saw boss enemies with terribly unbalanced difficulty.
After entering the industry, a senior told me that was a strategy to prevent players from reselling games to secondhand stores, but even now, I’m skeptical. I think it was simply that the bosses weren’t properly balanced before the deadline.

“—Ahead, Black Octopus class!”
Those are a pain to defeat because magic barely affects them.
“Arisa, your turn.”
“Okay, I’ve got the defense covered.”
“Yes, Arisa.”
The final form Castle unfolds multiple layers to protect the void ship.
“Transformation! Trinity Staff Mode!”
There’s no such mode, but I transform the void ship to match Arisa’s vibe.
Originally, the staff ship function existed as just one, so I simply split and copied it into three.
“I’ll leave aiming to Lulu!”
“Got it. Fire control, anti-god mode.”
“Aye aye, mom. Fire control setting, anti-immortal mode.”
The three bow tips, separated into three, glow with rainbow-colored light.
“Mythology Down.”
“Mythology Extension.”
“Mythology Gluttony.”
The three anti-god magics, supported by the void ship, swallow the Black Octopus whole.
Mia’s “Mythology Gluttony” is a minor variation of “Mythology Eater” customized for use in the void.
Its instantaneous damage matches Mythology Eater, but its continuous damage is inferior.
However, in the void, where the battlefield is far larger than on land and combat moves quickly, it’s hard to deal continuous damage, so Mythology Gluttony is more practical here.
“—No way.”
“Surviving after taking three simultaneous anti-god magics amplified by the void ship?”
Out of the flames, a black sphere appeared.
“It’s okay. It seems the damage was sufficient. It’s not unscathed. Really. The core is exposed, so I think we can finish it now. So, the rest is up to you—”
As Mia said, the Black Octopus is battered and broken.
“Understood.”
“First strike, Infinite Multiplication—Mythology Fang~?”
Tama, who had multiplied into an incredible number of copies, swung her massive fangs, covered all over her body with regenerating mountain-like flesh, and shredded the core into paste.
It’s a technique I’d never seen before, but it seems to be an evolution of her specialty, “Demon Blade Twin Fangs.”
She must have been trying hard to replicate the anti-god magics that Arisa and the others used.
“Second strike, Ryuryu and Pochi’s friendship combination technique—Dragoon Drill Stratos, it is!”
As Tama exposed the core, Ryuryu and Pochi, united as a dragon dog, charged at it with the speed of light.
Transparent blue and jet-black sparks flew fiercely.
“Gunyunyunyu—”
—LYURYURYU.
The emergency booster rockets attached to Pochi and Ryuryu’s enhanced armor ignited.
Still, the core was too massive to shatter.
“—Guts, indeed!”
—LYU!
From Pochi and Ryuryu’s tails, demon blade cannons fired one after another.
The outer shell protecting the core trembled violently.
“Woooooooohhhhhh!”
—LYURYURYU.
Driven by Pochi and Ryuryu’s determination, cracks finally appeared on the core’s outer shell.
As their strength waned, the shell shattered into obsidian-like fragments.
“Well done!”
“Ms. Liza! We’ve retrieved Pochi and the others.”
“Understood—”
Ms. Zena and miss Karina’s fighters towed Pochi and Ryuryu away from the core.
“Dragonic—Penetrator—Infinity.”
Then, at laser-like speed, Liza pierced through with a volley of white light arrows.
The exposed core of the defenseless Black Octopus couldn’t withstand this attack, losing its life glow and ceasing activity.
“Whoa, amazing.”
I didn’t think my comrades alone could defeat that troublesome Black Octopus.
Seeing how much they’ve grown fills me with pride.
Once this mess is over, I’ll praise them wholeheartedly.
“Ms. Liza, move back!”
“A new Black Octopus. —Ten units?!”
There’s no way we can handle this.
I moved in unit formation to shield Liza and the others.
