Since I took a break last week, this time it’s a bit longer.
This is Satou. A friend who works at Game Freak said that the reason why the last boss isn’t simply strong anymore is due to differentiation in computer RPGs.
I was somewhat convinced, but then I remembered that boss characters you can’t defeat without finding a strategy have been popular since the time of the Yamata no Orochi, so I wasn’t completely fooled. It’s certainly a gimmick suited for RPGs though.

“No reinforcements coming, huh?”
Even after the mist cleared from defeating the three giant members of the demon race, no new troops rose from the Demon God's Fortress.
“Ah, that’s convenient.”
There are probably other Purple Maidens in the Demon God's Fortress too, so wiping them all out with a meteor shower or anti-god magic isn’t an option.
From here on, it’s best for me to infiltrate alone.
“You’re not seriously thinking of going alone, right?”
“No way, Brother Ichiro.”
Arisa and Hikaru seemed to read my thoughts and put their foot down.
“We fully understand Master is strong, but if you fight the demon god while exhausted from consecutive battles, you might fall behind.”
Is that really so?
Right now, I feel like even if I faced the Demon King, I could defeat him with a single punch like a bald hero.
“Besides, Master’s level-up might be part of the demon god’s scheme.”
“A… scheme?”
I don’t think that’s the case.
“Geez! Have you forgotten?”
“He was trying to absorb Brother Ichiro, remember?”
“Oh yeah…”
That happened too.
There had been no news since then, and the Purple Maidens said the demon god was a dummy prepared by the gods and that it had become complete, so I had completely forgotten.
“Master is already complete.”
“But that doesn’t mean he won’t absorb anyone else.”
Arisa responded to the Purple Maiden’s words.
The usually quiet Purple Maiden couldn’t help but join the discussion about the demon god.
“Even if you’re going to remove the demon god’s ‘defilement’, I want you to face it in perfect condition.”
From Hikaru’s words, I sensed the nuance of “preferably, stop it altogether.”
“—Understood.”
I nodded to Hikaru and Arisa, who were pressing me.
Thanks to leveling up, I’m confident I won’t lose even if I end up fighting the demon god, but I’m not so arrogant as to think I can win every battle while exhausted.
Besides, with my current companions, we can dominate against high-rank demon race opponents, and even if facing high-rank demon race members or Demon Kings with unique skills, we won’t be instantly killed.
“I’ll rely on everyone.”
“That’s what I like to hear!”
Arisa snapped her fingers and urged everyone to take their seats.
“The target is the center of the Demon God’s Fortress! I don’t like fighting little skirmishes! We’ll charge straight into where the demon god is!”
A bold plan typical of Arisa.
From the tallest building, thick miasma spewed out, as dense as black sludge, making it easy to spot.
“Yes, Arisa. I will set the void engines to full power.”
“Zena-tan, set the main engines of the small void ships on the sides to full power too!”
“Understood! Main engines at full power!”
“Garuda, push forward.”
The large void ship, accelerated beyond what the inertia control device could cancel, flew toward the center of the Demon God’s Fortress.
“Here we come!”
“Fire!”
“I declare the deployment of the Impenetrable Guardian Domain (Paladin Domain).”
Tama and Mia, the Sanctuary Guard, on alert, gave a warning; Nana then overlapped a new barrier.
Rays and missiles struck the barrier created by the Impenetrable Guardian Domain (Paladin Domain), scattering into sparks and flames.
With each burst of light, the shock beyond inertia control was transmitted through the seats.
Still, strengthened by unique skills, the large void ship’s defensive barrier was strong enough to easily withstand thousands of these attacks.
“T-this is bad.”
The sporadic bombardment was steadily gaining momentum.
