I am Satou. Perhaps because I live in Japan, which is said to be a land of abundance, I have never experienced hunger.
Stories my great-grandmother told me about the wartime seem like distant events, far removed from my reality.
â—‡
A purple aura bursts forth from the magician’s body, enveloping not only the golems and the beautiful women but also me.
I checked the log just in case, and it seems I successfully resisted it. The reason I couldn’t acquire the skill is probably that it’s a unique skill.
“Well then, I look forward to a good death match.”
Saying that, the magician ran his fingers over the control panel of a Maze Core that looked like a music stand in front of him.
A wall appeared between the throne room and the hall. Checking the map, it wasn’t just a simple wall—it seemed to have moved to another location, just like other blocks in the maze.
I tilted my neck and dodged a magic arrow heading straight for my face.
Looking toward the source, I saw the former beauties with expressions fierce enough to rival any demoness. They threw a golem charging at me, using its momentum to perform an air throw.
I could have instantly killed it, but I wanted to use the golems to gauge the magician’s unique skill.
While dodging the first golem, the second one approached.
Adjusting my distance, I concentrated bullets from my rapid-fire magic gun on one leg of the golem. About ten shots were enough to shatter its knee.
I took a blow from the third golem. My health only dropped by a single-digit number, so it’s hard to tell numerically, but perhaps it’s about as strong as Waga Hai-kun?
My level is still 30, but maybe it's equivalent to double that? I wanted to compare it to the golems in the hall, but since I defeated one with a single blow, there’s no way to compare. I should have fought properly.
Still, if the skill only strengthens up to twice the level at most, this unique skill isn’t something to worry about.
Next, I dodged the third golem’s attack and landed a direct hit on the second. Not only was its head crushed, but the fist of the attacking golem was also destroyed.
I see—this is truly what they call a “limit break.”
Seizing this opportunity, the former beauties unleashed a rapid fire of magic arrows. The magic arrows were being fired from small magical circles that appeared on their foreheads.
I moved about aimlessly to avoid them, but they seemed to have some homing capability and persistently chased me. I intercepted the ones I couldn’t avoid with my rapid-fire magic gun.
For five people, the number of arrows was quite large. It’s impressive that their MP holds up this well.
The second golem whose head was destroyed was still moving. It thrust both hands toward me.
Could it be?
My expectations were a bit off, as it fired its ten fingers like missiles. I dodged them with ease, but they exploded near me.
The damage to my body wasn’t the issue, but my clothes were torn to shreds.
While I was floating in the air, the former beauties’ magic arrows rained down on me.
A golem’s fist also closed in at the same timing. It was the first golem I had thrown.
I was hesitant to use my gun because of the earlier explosion.
I wanted to use the golem’s fist as a platform, but the arrows would hit me first.
Using my quick change skill, I threw the cape I had just taken off at a nearby pillar and changed its trajectory—
—and thus avoided both the arrows and the fist.
The arrows pierced the golem but only reduced its HP by less than 10%. Even if they hit, the damage seemed minor, but I still didn’t want to get hurt.
More importantly, the former beauties started acting strangely. Their movements became suspicious, like they underwent a class change from demoness to zombie. They groaned with “uuh” and “aah” sounds, struggling in pain, yet continued firing magic arrows relentlessly.
