※ This time it’s a bit long.
I’m Satou. When it comes to games about climbing and conquering a giant tower, I can’t help but remember an arcade game inspired by Babylonian Mythology. It had RPG elements and puzzles, which made the攻略 really fun.

“Please wait!”
The one who called out to me was a bespectacled man who was called the deputy.
“If you’re going to explore inside, you’ll need a guide, right? As the deputy researcher of the Royal Research Institute, I’ll take on that role.”
“No need.”
I have a map, and somehow I feel like he might wander around selfishly and cause trouble.
“Yeah, yeah, since we’re going with you, there’s no need.”
“Sorry, but please have Arisa and the Duchess stay behind as well.”
“Aw, nooo~”
Arisa slumped into an orz shape.
“It’s better to have Arisa, who can contact us through clan communication if something happens, and Mito, who can contact the king,”
I explained to the three of them through tactical talk.
“Then, at least let me come along.”
Ms. Zena volunteered, so I approved.
I asked Arisa to gather the others and entered the tower with Ms. Zena.
“This place is spacious.”
“Yes, the stairs seem to be inside that pillar.”
It was exactly the spot I had heard about.
The map showed “Purple Tower, 1st floor.”
I tried full map exploration, but only the first floor’s map was activated.
From the second floor onwards, it seemed to be a separate map. That’s unusual.
There were no enemies or survivors on this floor, so we climbed the spiral staircase inside the pillar.
When we emerged from the spiral staircase, the map changed. This must be the second floor.
—Hmm?
The second floor was displayed as “Purple Tower, 2nd floor - i.”
Perhaps each staircase has its own map.
“Mr. Satou, there’s a blood trail!”
There was a bloodstain about three meters wide on the corridor.
I stopped Ms. Zena, who tried to follow the blood trail, and used full map exploration.
It was much larger than the first floor—about the size of the Royal Capital.
Moreover, most of the area was maze-like, reminiscent of old 3D dungeon RPGs.
“There they are.”
There were four survivors: three soldiers and one researcher from the Royal Research Institute.
On this floor, there were many level 1 to 4 vanguard goblins (demi-goblins). They seemed to wander alone through the maze.
They had no special skills but had the annoying bonus called “demon god’s protection.”
Indeed, this tower seemed connected to the demon god.
Ms. Zena and I headed to the survivors found on the full map exploration.
On the way, we found two corpses and stored them in the storage.
“Mr. Satou!”
Around the corner, we encountered a vanguard goblin completely purple in color.
Before I could engage, Ms. Zena rushed over and cut it down with her daggers.
“Gone?”
The vanguard goblin, whose head Ms. Zena had severed, turned into purple mist and vanished.
Clink—a small demon core fragment rolled on the ground.
According to the AR display, it was called a “demon core fragment.”
“Is something wrong?”
I asked, as Ms. Zena seemed concerned after cutting down the goblin.
“It felt like I defeated an ogre rather than a goblin.”
She said it was harder than you’d expect from a level 2 demi-goblin.
We encountered a level 4 vanguard goblin during our movement and tried to defeat it.
I couldn’t really tell the strength difference, but the purple defensive barrier protecting its body shattered instantly when the sword touched it. It’d still be a tough opponent for ordinary soldiers.
This might be the effect of “demon god’s protection.”
When defeated, it too turned into purple mist and dropped a small demon core fragment.
I was tempted to test further, but since the survivors’ condition wasn’t good, I locked on to the vanguard goblins on the route on the map and eliminated them all with guided arrows (remote arrows).
The survivors were in a small dead-end room.
The wooden door leading to the room was marked with many claw marks from demi-goblins.
