We have arrived at Seryu City.
Let’s quickly strip it bare with a wide-area map scan!
Population is 120,000. It’s the domain capital of a Count’s Domain on the borderlands of the Shiga Kingdom. Ninety-five percent of the population belongs to the human tribe, and the remaining five percent are from the beast tribe, Scale Tribe, and fairy tribe. The average level is between 2 and 3. The highest level is 48, belonging to an old mage. Knights and attendants range from levels 5 to 20, mostly around 8 to 12. Ordinary soldiers are about level 5 to 7. Probably as a countermeasure against dragons, many regular soldiers are archers. The gender ratio is about 5 to 6, with more females. It’s unclear if this is due to different birth rates or higher male mortality.
Surprisingly, the number of skills held by citizens is small. On average, 1 to 3 skills per person, and quite a few have none at all. However, some had learned nearly 20 skills, so it might not be representative.
There are few mages. Fewer than two thousand have acquired magic-related skills. Of these, ninety percent only have life magic, and the remaining ten percent mostly belong to the official mages of the lord’s army.
I had some expectations, but a level of 310 seems outrageously exceptional. Plus, the excessive number of skills I learned in my excitement might stand out unpleasantly.
When you zoom in on cities on the map, names of streets and shops, as well as their types, appear. Though it doesn’t show product items or reputation, it’s more than convenient enough for a first-time visitor. Unfortunately, unlike people, shops cannot be searched.
Considering the scale, the city is shaped roughly like two connected ellipses, about 6 km in diameter, joined about 3 km from the center, forming a bowed daruma or a slightly bent “ku” shape.
Zooming in to check each area...
First, the circle nearer the gate seems like a general residential district. Near the gate are stables and inns. The junction area is the central district, where the lord’s castle is located. Temples and magic shops also appear to be in the central district. The farther circle from the gate seems to be the lord’s manor. It feels too small to supply the city’s food, but too large to be a private farm for the lord.
I searched but found no one with the title ‘Adventurer’. There were no ‘Librarians’ either, so there might not be a library. However, there were ‘slaves’...
While investigating, I arrived at the city gate just as the sun appeared on the horizon — perfect timing! Although the gate was closed, so it was a bit disappointing.
I expected to see other people waiting in front of the gate, but there was no one.
You’d think people from nearby villages would be selling crops at a morning market.
Is it just my dream, or do shops not open until 10 am!
Wearing a polo shirt and chinos might stand out. I searched in my storage for clothes and found some robes; I took the only one that wasn’t tattered, a dark green robe, and put it on over my outfit. The others seemed magical items but were too ragged to wear. This robe, too, smelled slightly moldy.
At 15, my body was small as it used to be. The robe was a bit long, almost dragging on the ground. Thanks to that, my sneakers were hidden perfectly. Even after more than a week, I still hadn’t grown a beard, just like back then. I was thrilled to show off my first beard after entering university, but my girlfriend shaved it off immediately...
Those nostalgic memories kept flowing nonstop until the gate opened.

“●●! ●●●●●● ●●●●●●●●●!!”
An older soldier coming out through the side gate spoke in an unknown language.
To have my long-awaited conversation with others be in a mysterious language!!
] Acquired Shiga National Language Skill!
Easy mode, I love it!
God did not abandon me!!
I quickly navigated the menu and acquired the Shiga National Language Skill! I even accidentally invested 10 points into it—that’s just my charm.
