This is Satou. I once had trouble because work emails didn’t arrive due to a spam filter. Not being able to check items delivered to your mailbox until you confirm they're safe—if this were real life, it would be a fully dystopian world.

When selecting the post in the “Exchange” menu, the sender’s name is displayed.

The sender’s name is “UNKNOWN.”

Though it could mean the name is unknown, I can’t help but feel it refers to the mysterious little girl who appeared during the dog-headed battle.

If this were the system of WW or FFW, item sending and receiving should only be possible between registered friends, but despite “UNKNOWN” not appearing on the friend list, items have been sent from them.

There is also a “reply” option in the received items, but blindly sending something back and turning the mysterious little girl into an enemy would be problematic.

—What should I do?

After some hesitation, I decided to shelve the issue and postpone dealing with it.

I doubt it, but Trojan horse-type traps are scary.

By the way, sending items from the post doesn’t allow specifying a recipient, so the attempt failed.

Still, I had no idea this feature even existed.

“Dedication strike? Oh, you mean the dwarves of Boruehart.”

When I asked Hikaru, that’s what she replied.

“I don’t know the details, but it’s about making a sword to dedicate to the god when the lord changes, right?”

“Can it be done with other City Cores too?”

“Hmm? Probably not.”

According to Hikaru, this old custom of dedication during lord succession is only practiced by the fairy tribe.

When I asked Ms. Aze, she said that in the era of the founder kings, every territory dedicated gifts during succession as thanks for the aid they received.

The dedication was to the god who brought the City Core to the founder kings, but even Ms. Aze and others don’t know which god exactly.

There was a sighting report that elite warriors from Dragon Valley were equipped with the dedicated items, so it’s speculated the Dragon God might be the recipient.

However, since I killed the Dragon God, it seems other gods can interfere with the leyline and can steal the dedicated items.

…Today, I heard a lot of things for the first time.

“Can you help me? There’s something I want to try.”

“Of course, I’ll help.”

“Okay!”

I took Hikaru and Arisa with me to the territory of the Parion Divine Kingdom under my control.

It seems the barrier between City Cores hasn’t been broken yet.

“Wow! So this is the City Core! It’s beautiful; I’ve never seen one before.”

Arisa sighed in admiration upon seeing the City Core.

“So, what are we doing here?”

“I want to check if dedication strike or dedication is possible during lord succession.”

I answered Hikaru’s question as I took out the City Core terminal.

“City Core, lord change. Is dedication strike possible?”

‘Impossible. The option function is not installed.’

Oh, an option feature.

Then—

“How do I install the option feature?”

‘Unknown.’

I asked on a whim, but it seems impossible.

“Then, is dedication possible?”

‘Possible.’

That one seems possible.

“Can the dedication destination be specified? If not, who is the default recipient?”

‘Specification is impossible. It is the lord.’

…Hmm.

“Who is the lord?”

‘Meaning of question unclear. The lord is the lord.’

Is that different from a god?

Anyway, let’s continue the experiment.

“Then, please perform the ritual.”

‘Understood. Please designate the next lord.’

“The lord is Mito.”

‘Registration reservation complete. Please appoint the next proxy.’

I glanced at Hikaru, then pointed to Arisa.

“For Arisa-chan.”

‘Registration reservation complete. Please dedicate.’

I inserted a diamond sword made in the style of a Holy Sword into the entrance that appeared before the City Core.

This was specially made for this experiment.

It has a marker attached (..............).
