※This story is from Arisa’s perspective.

Mia and I passed through the gates of the magic academy together.

“Misnaria-sama, we’ve been expecting you.”

“Good morning.”

The academy principal, who was waiting at the entrance of the school building, quickly took Mia away before I could react.

After watching them leave helplessly, a handsome teacher in his thirties standing beside the principal approached me.

“Lord Tachibana, this way. I’m Hebin, the head professor. I will be your guide.”

“Thank you very much, Professor Hebin.”

His thoughtful expression matched perfectly with his deep, refined voice.

His slow, unique intonation was charming.

If this were a translated version, it might be described as a “cat-like voice.”

While I was thinking such silly things, he led me inside the school building.

Despite his stern appearance, Professor Hebin seemed considerate and matched his walking pace to mine.

“I’ll bring a device to measure your magic power, so please take a seat there.”

“Yes, Professor.”

I was shown to a grand room resembling a reception area and offered a plush sofa.

Sitting down gracefully but shallowly, my heart was anything but calm at the mention of “magic power measurement.”

Of course, with the magic power measuring crystal, I thought about shattering it and surprising everyone with “What incredible magic power!”

Hehehe, a school story has to start with showing off strong magic power!

“Four stars. That’s quite a high magic power. Only a friend of Misnaria-sama could have such a rating.”

Professor Hebin read the values from the crystal-shaped measuring device and entered them into the admission documents.

—Wait? Isn’t the measuring device’s capacity way too large?

As if answering my doubt, Professor Hebin muttered,

“Misnaria-sama broke the measuring device meant for new students, so I borrowed the original magic power measuring device made by King Ancestor Yamato from the castle.”

Oh no, Mia broke it first.

That figures. Mia’s magic power is about 50% greater than mine, so it makes sense.

Really, the usual procedure is to be surprised as new students increase their magic power progressively beyond normal levels, but since Mia went first, I get overshadowed.

I thought about bringing our cheat Master here to show magic power strong enough to break even the original measuring device— but that’s impossible.

Our Master wouldn’t do anything so conspicuous.

“You need not have such a troubled look.”

Perhaps because I was silent, Professor Hebin kindly reassured me.

“Normal new students range from one to two stars. Among teachers, only the principal and I have reached four stars. You should be proud.”

“Thank you, Professor Hebin.”

The principal is level 43, and this professor is about level 41.

My MP is 890, so presumably, exceeding 1000 would be five stars.

As for Mia’s evaluation—

“Misnaria-sama is five stars. She is the seventh in history to reach this level, following King Ancestor Yamato and other great figures.”

—Sounds like a cheat protagonist’s rating.

Compared to our cheat Master’s absurdity, Mia’s level is normal, but she’s still impressive.

Also, there was no attribute judgment as is usually expected.

They said it’s because of the Yamato Stone. No romance at all.

Then, we moved to the practical test room.

“Now, please destroy that target with magic.”

Alright! A chance to redeem myself!

Instead of just the target, maybe I should show Arisa-chan’s skill by smashing the magic barrier of this whole room with a single strike of Inferno (fire hell).

If I use silent casting spatial magic to avoid collateral damage, no problem.

“For your information, we will also evaluate the precision of your control, so be careful not to damage anything other than the target, or you will lose points.”

—Damn, someone must have messed that up already.

No choice.

I’ll go with Technical Arisa-chan.
