※A little story from the near future (within chapter 13)
※Special New Year’s edition.
“A night walk~?”
I spotted Master going out, so it’s an emergency apprehension.
Because Arisa and Mia asked me to.
“Ah, you found me out. Don’t tell anyone, okay?”
“Got it.”
Master helped me put on my Winged Boots, and we went out together.
Mia and Arisa said, “If Master tries to go out alone, catch him.”
But now I’m with Tama, so it’s okay.
—It’s okay, right?
From the rooftop of the neighboring mansion, I leapt out with a “pyo~n” and off we went!
Master’s black cloak fluttered in the wind, looking so happy. The white mask was smiling too.
Since Tama can’t fly well, Master held me.
“How far are we going~?”
“Almost there—look, right there.”
We softly landed on the tip of a spire.
Even though the cloak fluttered in the wind, Master didn’t move a muscle.
—As expected.
“Look, we’re going to take down those bad guys.”
“Bad guys~?”
I looked in the direction Master pointed, and saw a bunch of people dressed in black lurking with weapons in the back alley.
“They apparently attacked one of our employees’ family homes—but that story is for later.”
Master brought Tama up close to his face.
Getting stared at like that is embarrassing, meow.
“Listen, those guys are far weaker than labyrinth monsters, so don’t forget to go easy on them.”
“Got it!”
I responded with a sharp “shuta!” pose.
“Now, let’s start the ninja time.”
I nodded at Master’s words.
Because ninjas don’t talk.
Holding me, Master landed right in front of the guys in black.
“What the—who are you guys?”
“We’re your enemies.”
The moment we landed, Tama slipped into the shadows.
“What? The pink blob disappeared?”
“More importantly, kill that suspicious masked one!”
“““Yes!”””
The men in black all attacked Master at once.
Tama didn’t rush to help.
Because it wasn’t necessary.
—Amazing!
Master suddenly multiplied into six, attacking the black-clad men from six directions!
They were all knocked down before they could even swing their swords and lay sprawled on the ground.
I have to learn that too!
Because I’m a ninja.
◇
Just admiring won’t do, I might get scolded. I have work to do too—.
“That side’s getting noisy.”
“Maybe the guards found out.”
“Let’s just grab, kill, and run away quickly, even if it’s just us.”
“Yeah.”
There they are.
Shuriken, shoo, shoo, shoo~?
—Huh?
“Hmph, you’re pretty good, but I, former red iron, am immune to that.”
I was going too easy.
An older man attacked with a large axe.
It was an iaido flash.
I drew my Ninja-to with a shupan and swung it shushu, splitting the axe in two.
“Whoa, what’s that? A red blade flew over?”
Unyuu, a demon blade cannon appeared.
—Ah, Master caught the demon blade cannon over there.
I waved my hand and said thanks to Master.
Huh? But Master was fighting over there until just now?
When I turned around, Master was indeed fighting there as well.
An afterimage! Like Arisa often does when playing Demon King, saying “That’s an afterimage!” meow!
As expected of my Master.
“A magical weapon, huh? You coward!”
The older man scowled in anger.
I’m not a coward.
Besides, calling someone a coward is the real cowardly act.
Because ninjas are allies of justice.
I’ll do the afterimage too.
“Ugh, instant movement!”
I blocked the older man’s axe with a kunai while keeping my distance.
Hmm, not quite.
He threw a dagger, which I nimbly dodged while watching Master fighting over there carefully.
Hmm, this is tough.
Maybe move a little, then gyun and move quickly~?
“Damn, dodging so easily, how about this! ‘Flame!’”
The older man pointed a short staff with a Firestone at me.
Small balls of fire flew toward me.
No problem, meow.
If I just slice through here, it’s solved.
“What?! This one just sliced through my magic!”
Now it’s my turn.
Move a little, then gyun and move quickly.
“Wha, it multiplied?!”
Looks like it worked.
But I accidentally bumped into the older man’s stomach with too much momentum.
